jf2020 Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 (edited) Hallo, I'm trying to receive the France TV channels (France 2, France 3, France 4, France 5, Arte) on Atlantic Bird 3 5.00W on 11591V (tp KB4). Whatever I try I'm not able to scan this transponder either using DVBViewer (3.5.040) or Transedit (latest 3.0 version) + Skystar 2. By entering the parameters from www.lyngsat.com directly in the channel editor I can receive all channels but only France 3 is working correctly, as the picture has a small freeze every 2 seconds on other channels (France2, Arte, ..). DVBSource reports discontinuities which is a bit strange as according to Server4Pc signal strentgh is 75-77% and SNR > 10dB. Why can't I scan? Why do I have France 3 working fine and those discontinuities on other channels while my signal is (or seems better) than what I used to have or I have with my other dish on Astra 28.2 ? Any help greatly appreciated as this is quite frustrating! Also let me know if I should post other information that can be useful to find what's wrong. Edited August 15, 2006 by jf2020 Quote
Derrick Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 No problem here. Do you use correct settings? Quote
jf2020 Posted August 15, 2006 Author Posted August 15, 2006 Do you use correct settings? @Derrick: Thank you very much for your fastreply and posting the right parameters. I've tried to understand what gone wrong in my settings and attempts to scan. - About the discontinuities, I think that they are created by the fact that I didn't had the right PID for teletext, so my guess is that I was then sending to the teletext decoder something that it didn't like and that was causing the freeze every two seconds. I compared the settings in the file you attached and the export of the channels that I manually entered and the only differences are the disecq setting (no pb here), the PID for teletext and the LOF (this one I don't understand, it's value doesn't seem to matter as it's working whether it's set to low or high). One think that didn't help me is that the update button in channel list editor has a behaviour that I don't understand as if I put a new value for a filed and then press update the new value is not taken into account. I have to create a new channel entry using add to get it with the new values. - About not being able to scan, I think that the transponder list that ships with DVBViewer for Atlantic Bird 3 is a bit outdated, but that doesn't completely explain the behaviour whne I entered the frequency manually. Anyhow it's working now so I likely did something wrong. So in short, everything is working fine now thanks to your help! Quote
