vonMengen Posted September 3, 2006 Posted September 3, 2006 (edited) sorry but I couldn`t resist almost no problems with my new rig and for the first time I reached 0 cpu load mpeg 2 SD for a couple of seconds :-) 9 % mpeg 2 HDTV 28 % H.264 HDTV (cyberlink) config .: asus p5 DLX - Intel core2duo E 6600 @ 3,2 GHz - MSI 7600 GT HD (HDCP) in a silverstone HTPC case and in a silent config .. this is kind of an ideal cpu for htpcs : the cpu is so powerful that it isn`t interested in this kind of simple loads (DVBViewer +SD) and so immediately intels speedstep technology kicks in and puts the processor to sleep at half of the rated speed and voltage best vm Edited September 3, 2006 by vonMengen Quote

And still no flaws , errors in he recordet Video ? Great ! On an 3000 Athlon 64 DVBViewer runs recording w/o AV enabled also 0-1 % CPU load. Quote

bergh Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Hello ! Well , I say it with Churchil : I only belive statistics that I have faked myself. In other words: Do not belive one benchmark. Of course Intel is at the moment some % faster in some benchmarks. So what. Price/Power faktor still speaks for AMD. And I started with digital Video on a PIII 450 Mhz, so todays actual CPUs are a revelation compared to that days. And pay 100% more for 5 % more Power? No , I have a wife and two children Quote
