prerich Posted September 11, 2006 Posted September 11, 2006 (edited) Copy_of_support.zipThis is strange. When I owned a lesser pc all of my DVBViewer programs worked fine. I now have a superior set up but it just doesn't work - even after a full hard drive wipe. I can't get a grapedit shot because it locks up the entire system. Here's my configuration O/S WinXP W/SP2 Abit VT7 Motherboard (Via 880 Chipset 1024mb of PC400 Ram running Dual Channel P4 3.0 Ghz 800 mhz bus Hyperthreading disabled 200 GB Seagate Barracuda Hard Drive Geforce 6200 512MB AGP Video Card Air2Pc ATSC Tuner Creative Audigy 2zs Platinum My old system was a 3.06 celeron and it worked fine. What happens now is that I tune the channels - everythings correct. I select a channel to view and within 10 seconds the system freezes, audio sounds like a record with a scratch (repeating last phrase continually for about 7 seconds) and then total system lock up. At one point I did get it to play for almost 20 minutes but then the same results happened (I though I had it fixed). This happens with the TE version also. I have the following decoders: Sonic decoders Intervideo Decoders AC3 Filter I have included the support zip The major changes from when it worked till now is the new processor, more ram, and new audio card. Please help. Edited September 12, 2006 by prerich Quote
prerich Posted September 12, 2006 Author Posted September 12, 2006 Can no one help me???! Please......? Quote
Engelbert Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 t is possible that an old SkyDLL.dll disturbs in System32. Delete there! When video decoders adjust the SONIC. For audio and AC3 the AC3 filter. Quote
Guest Lars_MQ Posted September 12, 2006 Posted September 12, 2006 First guess: The soundcard and the dvb-card don't like each other. Did you try to put them in different slots (or if you have onboard sound tried it first without the audigy?) System lockups with XP can't originate from a normal program. But Drivers and/or Hardproblems/conflicts can do this. Quote

I think your right about this one. I will let you know in a few hours. Tks in advance Quote

jbodin Posted December 11, 2007 Posted December 11, 2007 And you're correct Thanks alot! Which was he correct about? Did you have to move the sound card to a different slot, or did you switch to onboard sound? I'm having identical problems -- switched from a Socket A Sempron 2600+ to a newer Socket 754 Sempron 3100+, and now the system just locks up. I have a microATX motherboard with only 3 available PCI slots -- I've got an Emuzed Maui III analog tuner that I use with GB-PVR, an Air2PC ATSC card that I use with DVBViewer, and a SoundBlaster Live! 5.1 sound card. These components all played nicely in my old Socket A system, but now I get lockups just like you described in your post. I may try switching the card order around tonight, just to see if that helps.
