ramonchin Posted October 1, 2006 Posted October 1, 2006 (edited) Hi! Could DVBViewer connect with ffdshow video processor only when a DVD is played ?? Edited October 3, 2006 by ramonchin Quote
gibman Posted November 6, 2006 Posted November 6, 2006 I'd like to know the anwer to this one myself I am also looking for a way to use ffdshow in DVD and in TV mode as well. I am currently using zoomplayer with vmr9 renderless (yv12) nvidia purevideo (dxva off) + ffdshow as post processing. FFDshow gives me the possibility to upscale the picture enough to gain some sharpness. This works quite nice in zoomplayer - although it would be rocking if I could just use DVDV as my dvd player also. Also on a sidenote, I tried to select ffdshow as post processor in the directX tab in options. FFDshow is not being used neither in DVD or in TV mode. Weird. /Gibman Quote
Trifon Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 Hello, All I can say so far is, provided the built in video Mpeg2 codec is used, FFDshow works through the autograph feature. Upscaling is OK too. Netherverless, after chanel change, DVBV takes ages to rebuilt the graph. Another nasty behavior: no DVD format, i.e. 525x720 are not supported, the picture is streched. Tried to built one graph but that won't work too as Activemovie pops up. Quote
Klaus_1250 Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 I tried using ffdshow as post-processor too, but couldn't get it to work either. Manually made a graph with ffdshow in it, but that didn't seem to work. Quote
ajeje Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I tried using ffdshow as post-processor too, but couldn't get it to work either. Manually made a graph with ffdshow in it, but that didn't seem to work. I've done a graph for DVD with nvidia decoder and ffdshow as post-processor but it was not so easy... I've done also a graph for TV with ffdshow as postproc. The problem is that in one of the two cases ( don't remember wich one now..) I have no smooth decoding. I've a P4 2.8HT and I've noticed that while the total cpu usage is quite low (~60%), one of the two thread uses only 10% while the other reach 100%. Furthermore changing tv channels takes a lot of time to rebuild the graph with ffdshow. Ciao Mattia Quote
Klaus_1250 Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 I've been googling like mad to find the issue, but I think it is ffdshow related. Problem seems to lie, among others, in the output-format of the MPEG2-decoder and input format of ffdshow. Choosing "All supported" in ffdshow doesn't neccessarily do the job, and on many forums, people select only one specific format in ffdshow. When building the graphs by hand, GraphEdit seemed to stuble overt this too, replying often that I couldn't build the graph because there was no way to connect the Cyberlink Decoder and FFDShow because the input/output formats weren't compatible.
