damp Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Hi, I use DVBViewer Pro and Nvidia card and I tried almost everything to get OSD in TV Out with no success. From the discussions in this forum I understood that this is a limitation of MS Windows. But I can't believe that there is no way how to workaround it. I wished to use this super software with my conventional TV connected to TV out so to have a kind of HTPC. So far it seems that the only possible way is to have an extra computer with TV connected to DVI output directly. Do you have an idea how to display OSD on TV? Thank you a lot for any advices! Bye, Martin Quote

Bye, Martin Hi, what you have on the other end of the tv-out cable? I have a scart plug there and never had any problems with OSD (using Radeon 9250). Plug is something like this one: http://www.verkkokauppa.com/popups/prodinfo.php?id=15738 Quote
hdv Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Hello, have you the video on TV but only OSD is not possible? Look to the Options -> DirectX an select as Video Renderer VMR7 or VMR9 Quote

Plug is something like this one: http://www.verkkokauppa.com/popups/prodinfo.php?id=15738 Thank you for your answer. I tried two connections with two different TV - scart and composit. Both are "converted" from svideo output on my graphic card Nvidia 6600 LE. HOwever, no OSD on TV. Hello, have you the video on TV but only OSD is not possible? Look to the Options -> DirectX an select as Video Renderer VMR7 or VMR9 Thank you for your reply. Yes, I see a video on TV with no problem but I don't see the OSD only. So far I was using overlay mixer so I changed it to VMR7 and VMR9 but OSD is still not visible on TV. I use "clone" display and full screen video on the second (TV) device. What's your setting? Do you have your TV connected to the svideo output? Thanks, Martin Quote
hdv Posted October 27, 2006 Posted October 27, 2006 Hello, whats you mpeg2 videodecoder? You must use Sonic Decoder or the CyberLink 6/7, older version switch back to overlay mode And OSD is only with VMR7/9 possible. for future use the SupportTool and post the support.zip Quote

So now see it enclosed. I tried to find the Sonic decoder but I found only paid version. So I experimented with my existing videodecoders and one of them works! So your idea was right, THANK YOU A LOT! Let me ask one more question - OSD is not available if I set the Nvidia card driver to display video on the second dispaly in the full screen mode. It's not probably possible neither with Sonic driver, isn't it? Now I can enjoy OSD, PIP and other great fuatures on my TV too! Thanks once again, Martin support.zip Quote
