leonfgomez Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 Hey guys I have been using DVBViewer for some weeks and I have to say that it is wonderful. Continue doing such a good work. There are some points that could be improved for future versions: 1. Scroll button + favourites channels: I would like to use the scroll button to navigate only among my favourite channels and no among all of them how it is at present 2. Mute button: sometimes I need silence and I have to close the graph and rebuilt it again later. There is right-click option but it would be great a mute button as well. 3. up/down favourites: Once one favourite channels list has been created it is imposible to move one item up or down. If I want a channel in a different posicion I have to redo the whole list again. 4. Favourites EPG: Although I can see in the EPG window just my favourite channels, they appear in a different order from my favourite channels list. I would like to be able to change arrangement. 5. Better helps: I don’t understand yet how to work with some features like weather and news. I have tried many things, even download the weather pictures, but they don’t work yet. I think it depends on the country. thanks leon Quote
Gioxy Posted January 20, 2007 Posted January 20, 2007 1. I agree 2. I agree (or, far better, a customizable toolbar like GE ) 3. you can move it with drag&drop in the favourite manager... 4. I agree 5. Mmmh, it's a little tricky but not so mutch... have you placed the "weather" folder in the right place? (DVBViewer\weather...); after that you have to: • find the right name of your "city, nation" at www.weather.com • insert it in "Settings / Options / weather / Add" • click on "Search" • select it on the right pane and click "Ok" Last but not list, all the data are collected trough Internet, so you have to had an active connection to see it... Benarty Posted January 21, 2007 Posted January 21, 2007 Great I can move my favourite channels now. You see, there are lots of features hidden The idea behind the favorite list is simply not User friendly. Itt seems me a better solution to add a toggle switch in the channel editor where a user can select if a channel is shown or not in the OSD channel list. The small buttons, TV, radio, favorites: so favorites could be removed. DVBViewer is great but it's not very user friendly , too much displayed in OSD and when things are disabled in the main screen, then the space between each menu option get's wider. For the user; OSD needs far less posibilities to and if you would keep it on OSD, fine but group then into a setup menu. OSD has lower priority: stability is more important. For example: encrypted is a problem, DVBViewer shows correct cam and smartcard info so it detect the cam but since these channels are the problem, why not a more detailed CAM menu? The problem now : a user has no idea where it's going wrong. And encrypted is VERY important since more and more TV channels dissapear behind decoder. In my case, great , finally a dutch provider but bah, not stable. Sudden freeze of overlay screen. System and DVBViewer is still working and rebuild graph fixes the problem for a short time. Quote

Benarty Posted January 24, 2007 Posted January 24, 2007 Yep, I think latest manual is a little bit outdated ..Need to be refreshed to 'see' all improvments and all that is possible to make. Dump the favorites at all. Scan option to scan only those channels that are in use since DVB uses mulrtiple channels on a transponder. Dump the boequet name while scanning so that the new channels come right at the end of the exisiting list. Use channel editor to move/delete channels. Next weekend: demo setup on saturday, I will only invite women to do a channel test. The few that did try it : very poor results. Quote
