sluisga Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 Hi. Before I purchase DVBViewer, I'd like to know if I can do the following. I've got a WinTV Nova T SE USB stick which I can watch Digital terrestrial TV in the UK. Will this programme let me watch the BBCHD channel? I've got the CoreCodec installed but can't get the channel to display in ProgDVB. Will DVBViewer let me watch it without too much hassle? Thanks for any replies. seb Quote
mr_chaela Posted January 27, 2007 Posted January 27, 2007 I presume that you are talking about the Crystal Palace BBC terrestrial HD trial. I'm using a Kworld DVB T-100 card in conjunction with DVBViewer to watch this and it works a treat. However, in order to scan the channel you must change the Europe.ini file found in \\DVBViewer\Transponders. Change the line:- 22=554000,8 to read 22=554167,8 Remember that you will need a powerful computer with CoreAVC to decode the stream. If you have an Nvidia card (I think it's 6600 series or above) you may be better off using the Cyberlink decoder with hardware acceleration enabled. Had a quick look around the forum and it appears that the Nova T USB is supported but I have no first hand experience of this. hth Quote
sluisga Posted January 27, 2007 Author Posted January 27, 2007 Thanks. I've got a Intel P4 3.2Ghz Northbridge CPU, AGP8X NVidia 7600 GT TDH and have my aerial pointing to the Crystal palace antenna. Is there a trial I can use to see how well it'll function? I've also got Power DVD 6 (that came with my graphics card) installed. Will this be ok? Quote
mr_chaela Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 CPU - should be OK (I'm using AMD 3200 Venice o/c from 2gig to 2.5gig, but works OK at 2.4) 7600GT agp card - Fine. (Supports H264 hardware accel.) PowerDVD 6 - Not sure if your copy will include H264 support, search for cl264dec.ax, if it's not on your system either upgrade or simply download and instal the latest PDVD 7 trial from Cyberlinks site - I believe the decoder will still work when the trial period expires. I think the only trial version of DVBViewer is the Technisat edition which is for B2C2 drivers, not BDA drivers. hth Quote
hdv Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 Hello, you can use Transedit MMC for testing your dvb devices, if you can find channels by searching, you can use the DVBViewer Pro or GE with that. A Demo or Trial of DVBViewer Pro doesn't exist. I have a Hauppauge WinTV Nova T SE Stick myself, and it works fine. Quote
Provolino Posted February 9, 2007 Posted February 9, 2007 Thanks. Is there a trial I can use to see how well it'll function? This is the biggest nonsense of DVBViewer... there are no demo versions of it even if all other similar products can be tested for free installing time-limited version this is the main reason I refused to buy it and now I'm using DVBDream... it's good, with all features of DVBViewer and it's totally free www.dvbdream.org Quote
