bakerpr Posted January 28, 2007 Posted January 28, 2007 (edited) On sd channels using both nvidia or cyberlink decoders I have problem with distorted bottom half on the picture. Turn off HW acceleration and distortion goes but picture lacks fluidity. Edit: This problem is generally with overlay renderer as I can get a full picture with vrm7 with the HT fix enabled. Thanks, the problem appears to have been with the graphics driver I was using which I have been reluctant to update since 84.43beta has given the best picture for H264 broadcasts. Quote
pekkap Posted February 7, 2007 Posted February 7, 2007 Thanks, the problem appears to have been with the graphics driver I was using which I have been reluctant to update since 84.43beta has given the best picture for H264 broadcasts. I have suffered of the same problem (distortion of the lower portion of the screen) and seen it reported also on a Finnish DVB-forum. In my case VMR7 does not help. (normally I am using Overlay mixer). The problem seems to be always related to Nvidia graphics cards (Different models and different MPEG decoders, in my case Cyberlink). Here is a summary of problem details - occurs both on live display and replay of recordings - playing the recoding with another player does not have the problem - switching of HW-acceleration removes the problem - in my case operating system is XP Media Center Edition with latest fixes - HP Pavillon DV2140 / NVidia Geforce Go 6150 with latest drivers The report in Finnish DVB-forum says that chagning resolution fixes the problem (but not in my case). In my case however going to display properties/Advanced/Geforce 6150 pane removes the problem (but closing and restarting DVBViewer brings it back). This indeed seems to be Nvidia problem, but as I am already running the latest drivers I do not see any speedy remedy from there. Any suggestions what to do to find a work around? Thanks Pekka Quote
