Paul I Posted January 31, 2007 Posted January 31, 2007 Hi all, Just purchased and installed the software...looks good, but have hit a snag. Hardware detected OK, terrestrial channel scan OK (better on GE than PRO), lots of audio and video channels detected, 100% signal on most, BUT...I'm only getting about 3 or 4 seconds of audio or video before either the video freezes and the sound cuts out. The application is still responsive, and I can swap channels, see the EPG info etc etc....just can't get any picture or sounds until restarting the application. I downloaded the GE as well as PRO, and the same problem occurs. I also downloaded TransEdit and tried the preview feature on that, and get the same problem. Is this indicative of a CODEC related issue? I'm using a Freecom DVB-T stick (old chip set I think, judging by the lack of letters on the serial number), with the Freecom BDA drivers. Any help would be appreciated... Cheers, Paul. support.zip Quote
Paul I Posted February 1, 2007 Author Posted February 1, 2007 Just a brief update to this....after further playing I've noticed that if I change to a channel on a different broadcast frequency (is that a multiplex???) I get 3 - 4 seconds of video and audio before the picture freezes and sound halts. So if I start on BBC1, I get 3 - 4 seconds before the picture to freezes, and sound stops, then switch to BBC4, I get a 3 - 4 seconds of BBC4 before the picture freezes and the sound stops, and then if I switch back to BBC1, I can repeat the process... However if I repeat the experiment swtiching between BBC1 and BBC2, which broadcast on the same frequency I get no picture or sound after the first 3 - 4 seconds on BBC1. Is this a de-multiplexing issue perhaps? Cheers, Paul. Quote

Paul I Posted February 6, 2007 Author Posted February 6, 2007 had the same problem , try changing your video decoder Hey - thanks for the help. So you have any suggestions on what to use? I've tried three now and all demonstrate the same issue: Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder Intervideo Video Decoder Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7) Rather frustrating! Cheers, Paul. Quote
Paul I Posted February 8, 2007 Author Posted February 8, 2007 I've tried three now and all demonstrate the same issue: Elecard MPEG-2 Video Decoder Intervideo Video Decoder Cyberlink Video/SP Decoder (PDVD7) I've expanded the list now to include: Intervideo Video Decoder (v8) GPL MPEG 1/2 Decoder ffdshow MPEG4 decoder All without success. I've also tried some Windows MCE drivers another board suggested, bundled with the WideViewer DVB-T WT-220U as apparently they have the same chipset - but these appear to be worse... Any thoughts anyone? P. Quote
Griga Posted February 20, 2007 Posted February 20, 2007 Check what the property page of the DVBViewer Filter (View -> Filters -> DVBSource) reports. It contains the demultiplexer. Quote
