Recordings Database and client/server

I do (most) recordings on the server.

I use TS format and "Create information file" is checked.

On the client I add a path to the shared server folder on the form \\server\recordings.

 

1) Is there a way to automatically keep the clients recordings database up to date without having to click "Refresh Database" each time a recording is done on the server?

 

 

Occasionally I want to move a recording from the client to the server.

 

2) Is there a simple way (manually is OK) to include a copied recording into the servers recordings database?

 

I know I can move it to the Movie folder. I don't like that and I can't see the info in OSD.

 

 

 

Obviously I don't quite understand how the recordings database works.

 

3) What is this Dummy.txt for? I shouldn't mess with that!

 

4) Is it not allowed to manually mess with files in recordings directory?

 

 

 

I have some related problems doing a new install of DVBViewer (applies to the install onto the client as well).

 

What I did:

 

Backup of DVBViewer folder.

Uninstalled DVBViewer and deleted the DVBViewer folder.

Installed new version of DVBViewer.

Set the Recordings Directory to the same as it was in the old install.

Click "Refresh Database"

 

I could see only about half of my recordings in the OSD. All was recorded by DVBViewer.

If I get an answer to question 2) this is not a problem.

I have (no luck) tried to move the not seen files to another folder, then added this folder to recordings directory.

 

 

5) The visible recordings all came up with wrong date 30.12. Maybe a minor bug?

The info file has 3 dates, one is LastShown=30-12-1899.

I need this exact same function. I have several clients recording to a hard drive on a server. When one client record a show it does not show in the other clients before i click "Resfresh Database". It would be great with an automated function or script for this.
