Benarty Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Hey, congratulations with this excellent mediacenter software. Stable operation as of today with the digital everywhere floppy DTV. I started original with technotrend DVB-S with hardware decoder under linux. I left linix after changing to new mainboard that caused problems and the problem was that windows mediacenters do not use the hardware decoder. I sold this card. and replaced it first with a KNC-ONE DVB-S/CI and later Twinhan DVB-S/CI 1030A. Both of them had the same problems but have to admit that KNC ONE was not tested with DVBViewer. WDM good CI sipport but choppy video. BDA: better video but no CI support. I've received the FloppyDTV today and it was running fine from out of the box. Firmware update supported: not many cards offer that. The biggest reason why I've decided to switch to DVBViewer is: it's compact and fast. I sure hope that this will stay so with later releases. The User friendlyness could be better but hey, it's easy to make a negative remark on alle HTPC software. Price: DVBViewer is cheape and I will pay this once every year. Next will be around 7-8/2007 and same in 2008/2009/..... Quote
villi Posted February 24, 2007 Posted February 24, 2007 Yes, that is the same with my hardware. I have so much DVB-C Cards for my digital cable and only the FireDTV runs out of the box, the best tv-hardware I ever has. Quote
Travis Bell Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Yes, I agree. The FireDTV S is also the best card I have ever owned as well. Amazing uptime and reliability. Quote
