paulo_andre Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 I have a SkyStar 1 and wanted to use DVBViewer to stream channels to a laptop. The problem is I can't seem to confirm skystar 1 is supported, the free technisat version does not support it (so I can't test it), the features page says it is supported but in the forum I found several posts where it's said it is not supported. So my question is simple: can I use DVBViewer to stream satellite channels over the network with a skystar 1? Also, I read something about DVBViewer not using the hardware decoder, so basically having a skystar1 or a skystar 2 is the same in terms of cpu use? Quote
Gioxy Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) There is a misunderstunding in the name: the one supported is the new "TechniSat SkyStar1 (CI)", not the old (and totally different) "TechniSat SkyStar1" (without "CI")... So the (sadly) conclusive answer to your question is: no, the old (mpeg hw on board) SkyStar1 is not supported by DVBViewer... Edited March 1, 2007 by Gioxy Quote
koy Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I own a "SkyStar 1 CI" and have tried to use it with "DVBViewer" but with no success as of yet, even though in the, "Introduction.PDF" http://www.DVBViewer.com/oliver/Introduction.pdf It clearly states that it dose work. Can anyone help please, all I get is "No Hardware" message. Am I missing something i.e a driver or something else? Quote
