UK Freeview Channels Scanning

Hi all,

 

I've just installed DVBViewer for my Pinnacle PCTV DVB-T card, and things were looking really good! However, I could only tune into 33 channels, I was missing a lot of BBC channels for example.

 

After some research, I think I've got a solution. I've used the following two websites:

 

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/terrestrial/tuning/

http://www.ofcom.org.uk/static/reception_a.../index.asp.html

 

I've then customised my europe.ini file to match the information contained in these two websites, showing the 6 transponders for my nearest transmitter (WinterHill). My Europe.ini file now looks like:

 

[SATTYPE]
1=5000
2=UK-WinterHill

[DVB]
0=6
1=754000,8
2=834167,8
3=850167,8
4=842167,8
5=786167,8
6=810167,8

 

And I now get 65 channels! If anyone's interested, I've put an Excel spreadsheet together which helps to automate this a bit and I've attached it. If people are wary of opening this, I'm guessing with macros turned off all should be okay? I've scanned it with AVG Free 7.5.446, virus base 268.18.5/707 and it came through clear.

Blackhill transmitter in central scotland use offsets as well can send a transponder file to anyone who wants it.

 

Code is bellow & have attached a copy of my file

Europe.ini works fine for Crystal Palace, just change line 22 to read:-

22=554167,8

in order to tune BBC HD1 trial.
