HD. Posted March 6, 2007 Posted March 6, 2007 Does anyone know a good trick for my problem? I have Terratec Cinergy 2400iDT Dual Tuner DVB-card running on WinXP SP2 and DVBViewer 3.6.1.2. Terratec has latest BDA-Drivers. Randomly, when changing channel or returning to TV mode from DVD or MP3 playback, DVBViewer crashes. "DVBViewer.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows". When you restart DVBViewer, you can't see any broadcast until you reboot. Tried to reinstall Terratec drivers, no help. I would appreciate if someone could help. Quote
HD. Posted March 7, 2007 Author Posted March 7, 2007 Seems thet problem may have been found. Switching from Cyberlink codec to ffdshow seems to be helped. So I installed Intervideo codec and tried it, no crashes so far. Let's hope for the best. Quote
duja Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 I had the same problem with 3.6.1.2 version of DVBViewer! It crashed ofter when i tried to watch encrypted channels but also when trying to watch free channels but then it took some more time for it to crash. I'm now with 3.6.0.2 and its working perfect! But I can agree with you that switching between decoders does affect DVBViewer in a bad way. Just 1 minute ago I tried to switch the audio decoder from the default MPEG Audio Decoder to Intervideo Audio Decoder and guess what? It crashed / Duja Quote

Hi, I also have (hope now to say HAD) the same problem, changing channel, DVBViwer crashed, mostly it freezed and did anything anymor, I had to reboot. now I tried the Intervideo Codec (is it right if I installed WinDVD 8 Trial as I did with the Cyberlink?) until now it did not freeze anymore, but as it was always in a not reproducible way I am still not sure it will work ... so I keep you informed hope this is the solution ciao Isidar Quote
HD. Posted March 12, 2007 Author Posted March 12, 2007 Now it's been almost a week using it 24/7 and crash count zero since I switched to Intervideo codec. So seems that it was the solution for me. Quote
Dr. Cain Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Same problem here, more crashes with Cyberlink less with Nvidia Purevideo, but both still crash.. This is using the stable version (3.6.1.20) and latest beta (3.6.2.2). I wonder if this is related to me upgrading to Catalyst 7.4? Or if it's just a DVBViewer codec issue.? Going to try Intervideo next. Quote
Dr. Cain Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 Ok, got it to stop crashing now with cyberlink. Turned on Fast Channel switching, since it's obviously an issue when rebuilding the graph. Now it doesn't crash anymore. Intervideo sucked btw, couldn't get DXVA to work, so playback wasn't as smooth as it used to be. Quote
