dezzy Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 When recording tv chanel the audio & video in mpg format aren't synchronized, is there any solution for that ? This is not a direct answer to your question, but an alternative solution, that works for me. Install the Video Recorder plugin that allows you to record in .ts format. I have not had any sync problems with my recordings. Quote
Benarty Posted April 15, 2007 Posted April 15, 2007 Use the AC3filter for audio, it allows to adjust the time a bit of audio compared to video. Meanwhile, post a support.zip file first. Quote
improve Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 (edited) Sorry but if I buy program that has option to record in .ts or .mpg format then I suppose that will works great. Example: in AltDvb recording works great nothing problems with audio/video sync and .ts file can be opened whith subedit player. The same player can't open file recorded in DVBViewer (this is only example of diference). For that moment recording is working so great like my english support.zip ps. the recording option I want use from remote control, and whith additional AC3filter the recording process must start from menu program (maybe not tested this plugin). And yes I now, my english isn't good (sorry for that).. Edited April 17, 2007 by improve Quote

Don't worry about your English. I can guarantee that it is better than my Polish. I am not certain why you are having a problem. I can only give you a generic answer. In my experience if you are recording .ts, it is recording exactly as it is broadcast. The recorded file should have no sync problem. The errors in sync etc occur if the streams are separated in post processing. I suggest that the problems may be in your player, if you are using something other than DVBViewer. You could try VLC Player that is also very good, but not as good as DVBViewer in my opinion. Forget any other player that is causing you a problem. If you record using DVBViewer and play back using it, I can not understand why you would have a sync problem. The Video Recorder plugin is free and specifically developed for DVBViewer to allow .ts recording. In my experience it works very well. I also use WebScheduler for recording .ts. You could give it a try if you continue to have problems. Perhaps someone with a better understanding of DVBViewer can give you a more specific answer to your immediate problem. Quote
improve Posted April 17, 2007 Author Posted April 17, 2007 If you record using DVBViewer and play back using it, I can not understand why you would have a sync problem. I tested playing recorded files (.ts and .mpg) in DVBViewer (before don't do it) and yes there is no accurate sync problem for both files but playing the same file (mpg) in example: subedit or ms media player11, the sync occured (the same is if I tested play back .ts on another computer whith bsplayer; additional file .ts grabed whith altdvb don't have this). now i will test how will be recorded file (ts) in DVBViewer converted to another compressed format (maybe all will be super). thnx dezzy for sugestion playing file in DVBViewer Quote
Gioxy Posted April 18, 2007 Posted April 18, 2007 Maybe you have to know a little more background to understand why... TS = Transport Stream, and as Wiljo Heinen state in the Help file of it's PVAStrumento: A way of multiplexing audio and video and other data into a continuous stream. Part of the MPEG2 standard. TS is supposed to be used over "lossy" media. Data may get lost but the decoder is still able to produce a movie on your TV. DVB uses TS formatting This is why is better to play a .TS file in a DVB app = a "generic" multimedia player not necessariliy can understand (and manage) all the .TS complexity... now i will test how will be recorded file (ts) in DVBViewer converted to another compressed format (maybe all will be super). A .TS file must be dealt in particular way: you can find more background info (near all what one have to know about MPEG...) in the Help file mentioned above... There you you will discover that to have a more portable file you don't need recompressing, you simply have to convert it to plain MPEG2 PS (Program Stream), ie the same file you can obtain simply recording in MPEG format...
