Hello!

Is there any chance to use the new nvidia 8500/8600 hardware acceleration in H.264 in DVBViewer pro?

Thank you

Christian

Vista (nVIDIA driver 158.x) + DVBViewer GE + CyberLink H.264 Decoder (>= v7.2) + Enhanced Video Renderer

That's currently the only working combination.

Did anyone test EVR + WinXP + DVBViewer GE, yet? Would be quite interesting...

I have the same configuration like you (E6420, 2x512GB, Geforce 8500gt, TT-S2-3200). With HD content (H.264) from sat I get almost 100% cpu with a lot of stuttering. I am using Pro version of DVBViewer.

is it possible that Powerdvd 7.3 codec support VMR too?

I have just upgraded my hardware for HD and have just discovered that my ge8500gt is useless currently with DVBViewer pro....

thanks

Tried it, yes. But it was quite hopeless as the XP driver simply lacks PureVideo support.

VMR9 is supported, yes, but under Vista it is only possible to take advantage of H.264 acceleration via DXVA2 (at least with the CyberLink codec). DXVA2 can only be used together with EVR.

PureVideo 2 can indeed not be accessed when using DVBViewer Pro, neither under Vista, nor under XP.

However, I believe that future XP implementations (driver + decoder) will work with VMR.
