well i've managed to get the server/client thing setup.

on the server, channels with the 'key', the encrypted channels , work absolutely fine, no problems.

i scan for channels on the Client computer, it finds them all, but it won't let me watch the encryted channels, just the free to air ones. any ideas?

its as if the client pc isn't picking up the sky card slot thats attached to by dvb tuner.

You checked Has CI in the hardware options for the network device?

yup i have, i mean, if someone could tell me exactly what boxes should/shouldnt be checked, that would be helpful. but yeh the CI thing is ticked, on the server, and on the client.

its strange how the client is detecting all the channels just like on the server, yet i can only play the free-to-air ones on the client.

Are you talking about a CI and if yes, which module?

I don't know how you have configured/installed your software. In particular I don't know how you have managed to scan channels on the client but I will tell you how I have set up my systems.

I have installed DVBViewer on both client & server. Then on the server I have scanned for channels & got everything working with both FTA & encrypted channels (CAM is a T.Rex Supermodule with Predasaur 2.16 plus Sky subscription card).

I then copied the entire DVBViewer directory tree from the server to the client overwriting the installed software so on the client there are all the sacnned channels plus Favourites etc. Then I run DVBServer on the server & configure for Unicast. On the client I run DVBServer & configure hardware to use the Unicast Network Device.

All works prefectly with FTA & encrypted channels.
