c128 Posted July 5, 2007 Posted July 5, 2007 (edited) I'm sure I'm missing something obvious here, but I don't know what... I am using DVBViewer V3.6.1.20, have downloaded the "MCE Remote Plugin" .zip from the customer area and have placed "myMCE2005.dll" in the DVBViewer plugins directory. Re-starting DVBViewer and, as expected, under "Settings | Options | Inputs | Inputplugins" I have a new "MCE2005" option - I check this and uncheck "WinLirc". Now, I have also downloaded the MCE.remote from the MCERemote.zip that's here, and I place this in my "C:\Program Files\DVBViewer\Remotes" directory along with the others that are there by default. I then select "Load" from "Settings | Options | Inputs", navigate to MCE.remote and select it - it appears to correctly load-in the MCE remote settings as I now have options like the following under "On Screen display": OSD Menu Keyboard Esc MCE2005 Info MCE2005 Live_TV etc. etc. So, I select Apply. However...when I come to use my remote it's exactly as if I haven't changed anything. For instance, the Info button does nothing and does not bring up the OSD menu. If I use Esc on the keyboard to bring up the OSD I can then scroll up and down with the remote but not select anything. Without the OSD being displayed, the remote seems to be operating exactly as before - OK brings up the program info and up/down change channels, the number keys can also be used to go to specific channels and that's about it, none of the other options that seem to be mapped correctly under "Settings | Options | Inputs" work. The remote itself is an MS compatible one, and works fine with Media Center. I don't know if it's relevant, but I am using Vista 32 Ultimate, but I'm reasonably sure I used the above process when I had DVBViewer under XP MCE and the remote worked fine. Any ideas? Am I missing something? What else can I try? Thanks. Edited July 5, 2007 by c128 Quote
c128 Posted July 7, 2007 Author Posted July 7, 2007 I guess there are folk out there that who have the MCE Remote stuff working within DVBViewer on Vista Ultimate? I've since uninstalled and reinstalled DVBViewer in an attempt to sort things out but, again, the MCE remote appears configured, is fine within MCE itself but just doesn't respond in DVBViewer... c128 Posted July 23, 2007 Author Posted July 23, 2007 Just in case anyone is searching with the same problem... It turns out that I wasn't missing anything in the above set-up, but something strange was clearly going on. Due to other reasons I reinstalled Vista Ultimate on the weekend along with DVBViewer - after following the procedure above the remote works perfectly, so I suspect something got messed up in past DVBViewer installs/uninstalls. What though, I don't know... Quote
