DVBViewer and Wifi

I've run into a little problem with DVBViewer. I recently changed my broadband router for a wireless version (I've added a PC in the garage, and need the wireless connection for that). On a new install of XPHome, I've put in the lastest version of DVBViewer. The problem is that the image stutters slightly and occasionally freezes completely. When it stutters, the audio continues unaffected. When it freezes, the audio stops. When it freezes, it sometimes starts again on it's own after about 10 seconds, or sometimes has to be restarted by reselecting the channel from the Channel List.

I never had this problem before the re-install of XP and the new wireless router. If I shut down the wireless connection, no problems. As soon as it's restarted, the problems begin. The wireless adapter is a PCI card, and so is the TV card (a Hauppauge Nova-T PCI) and they are mounted in slots next to each other (if that makes any difference). Device Manager shows no conflicts anywhere in the system and the 2 devices use different IRQs.

Does anyone have any suggestions? I've tried most combinations of Video Renderer, MPEG2 Video Decoder, and tried Video Format Detection. The computer has a NVidia 6600GT graphics card, but I don't think the problem is there, as the rest of the screen keeps going when DVBViewer freezes.

Any suggestions how I can solve this one? Getting rid of the TV card or the network adapter isn't really an option. I've got a Athlon X2 4200+ dual core processor coming, but if the problem is getting the data from the card to the rest of the system, a faster machine probably won't help (current processor is a Athlon 3200+ single core)

does this happen on all channels or just on one transponder?

It happens on every channel.

My new processor arrived today, so while the machine is apart, I'll try swapping the cards around in the PCI slots to see if it makes a difference.

I've noticed there's a couple of mentions of a similar problem in the Hauppauge forums, but no resolution.

I've just tried every possible combination of card in PCI slots (I have 3 cards and 3 slots), and none of them make any difference to the stuttering. I then swapped the old 3200+ cpu for a X2 4200+, and that made no difference either.

I have solved it, but it's bit a bit like cheating. I had bought another PCI wireless card, this one a D-Link DWL-G520 (my first card is a DWL-G520+). The difference is that the 520+ has a TI chipset, and the 520 has a Atheros chipset. The drivers were installed, the card installed, re-boot, and the stuttering is gone. There seems to be a basic incompatibility between the Hauppauge card (90002) and the D-Link DWL-G520+. Looks like the 520+ is going on eBay and I'll get mayself another 520.

Cheers
