LearningCurve Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) I am a little confused about how the recording service and windows scheduler work together. I notice that the recording service is at "idle" at windows start up. It appears to record in the background without launching DVBViewer, this is nice. However, if DVBViewer is started the recording service is stopped. Then when DVBViewer is closed, the recording service remains stopped and will miss recordings. So I checked the box to use windows scheduler. (I placed scheduler.exe in the DVBViewer directory). The first time that I tested it, I shut down DVBViewer and noted that the recording service remained off. Windows scheduler launched the DVBViewer application and the recordings were successful. The next time that I relied on windows scheduler to start the recording it failed. The event was still present in windows scheduler. I started DVBViewer and it immediately started recording. Is there a setting to make sure that the recording service is restarted after DVBViewer is closed? I would really like to have some confidence that I will not miss any recordings. Thanks! Tjod Posted August 5, 2007 Posted August 5, 2007 I am a little confused about how the recording service and windows scheduler work together. You should only use one of them. Then when DVBViewer is closed, the recording service remains stopped and will miss recordings. You have to activate the svcctrl Plugin, take a look in the readmesvc.txt.
