Posti2ggr Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 Hi all Maybe I am doing something wrong but channelscan is weird in 3.8.0.0 or maybe it was in earlier versions to, never tested this before. I am using the Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 4000 card (DVB-S2) and since this card was not supported in earlier versions for S2 I never tried edit any transponders under c:\program files\DVBViewer\transponders , but now I did edit file 3592.ini that containes 16 transponders and are for Thor 2,3....after editing there are now 26 transponders including the 2 ones for DVB-S2 11421 and 11434. But for some reason when I scan for channels under Channel Scan and choose Thor 2,3 transponder it doesnt use my edited values (obvious under frequence 11421 that shall have 25000 and not 24500, and search using 24500). So I shut down DVBViewer and removed all transponders under install directory c:\program files\DVBViewer\transponders .....but when starting channel search all transponders are there, hehe so am I doing something wrong or where from does DVBViewer use or get its transponders. BTW! Favorite channels can be deleted and they dissapere but when i restart DVBViewer they are back Would be most greatfull if anyone could enlighten me what I am doing wrong AMD 4200+ 2 GB Corsair XMS2 DDR2 Asus Geforce 8800GTS 640MB Hauppauge WinTV-HVR 4000 Posti Quote
Lars_MQ Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 In DVBViewer -> About -> config folder -> there you find the transponders folder. Quote
Posti2ggr Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 Many thx for the fastest answer I ever seen Now it did search all the new transponders on 1 Degree west except for the DVB-S2 transponder 11421 and 11434 but will try different settings in Transedit for those (or maybe just my card who dont work with them). //Posti Quote
Lars_MQ Posted August 10, 2007 Posted August 10, 2007 The hauppauge dvb-s2 cards does need more settings/informations (pilot etc) than other dvb-s2 cards. Please use transedit from the membersarea for it. With it you can try the different settings. And please post your findings (transponder ini) here so you may help others with it. Quote
Posti2ggr Posted August 10, 2007 Author Posted August 10, 2007 Short update. Transedit 3_0_8 cannot find any DVB-S2 channels on Hauppauge HVR4000 but used my first settings and send them to DVBViewer's Transponder folder named "Thor HD": 11421 H | 25000 | FEC 2/3 | Auto | DVB-S2 | Pilot Symbols | Roll off 0,35 | 11434 V | 25000 | FEC 2/3 | Auto | DVB-S2 | Pilot Symbols | Roll off 0,35 | voila DVBViewer now founds 6 channels Will test more and then update the complete Thor 2,3 updated transponderlist tomorrow. //Posti Quote
