David-J Posted August 12, 2007 Posted August 12, 2007 Hi, I've read the FAQ and looked through the posts but I can't find an answer to what I am going to ask (Sorry if this has been answered, I just couldn't find it!). I've just built a nice little HD-HTPC and a 42" 1080p LCD to go with my 7.1 audio. I only use the HTPC for music, pictures and dvd/movies (mostly .avi) my TV is taken care of by my Sky+ box. Now I have the set up I am interested in going fully HD, problem is the Sky HD box is £249 and another £10 per month. Is there a PCI/USB card I can buy that does the same as the sky HD box? I assume I would need to ring sky, pay the £10 per month and get a new viewing card with I need to attatech to the PCI/USB device. Is this possible? Has anyone done it? I've googled 'till my eyes bleed, is there anyway of getting sky HD without a sky hd box? Thanx, David
Lakeuk Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 Yes it is possible and the following very long thread will tell you everything [entfernt]
Derrick Posted August 13, 2007 Posted August 13, 2007 I've googled 'till my eyes bleed I don't believe you As long as bskyb don't offer legal CI-modules you have to follow links like @Lakeuk's link. IMO, further discussion should not take place on this board (rules). Therefore I will close this thread
