Ataberk Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 I've purchased DVBViewer today, browsed newbie forum but couldn't find a similar problem with mine. My DVB-S card is FlyDVB-Trio, I use only DVB-S function. I have two dishes (one for TurkSAT and one for Hotbird). I have one 4-port Diseq switch. TurkSAT is connected to first and Hotbird is connected to second ports. I have Windows Vista Installed, i have no problem switching between sattelites with other freeware programs like progdvb. The problem is; I can watch the TurkSAT channels smoothly but can't switch to any hobird channels. (Or vice versa). The only solution i found, 1- Close DVBViewer and open Progdvb 2- Switch to any hotbird channel. 3- Close ProgDVB 4- Restart DVBViewer. DVBViewer now can show hotbird channels. (and have ability to scan) But this time can't switch to TurkSAT channels. To have ability to watch TurkSAT channels again, I have to do steps written above again. (and switch to any TurkSAT channel in Progdvb) This time can't watch Hotbirds again Somehow, DVBViewer can't switch between sattelites with my DVB-S card. (BDA device itself). It's so boring. Any suggesttions? support.zip Quote
Derrick Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 How about your diseqc settings? Try with TransEdit. Quote
Ataberk Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 TurkSAT is on port 1 which is Pos A/OptA Hotbird is on port 2 which is Pos B/OptA I used and scaned with transedit. And to be able to scan Hotbird channels with transedit, i had to open progdvb and change to a hotbird channel first. Quote
Derrick Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 can you read the diseqc settings from progdvb? Is it identical? Quote
Ataberk Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Well, here are the screenshots. I hope it's my mistake Quote
Derrick Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 ..dunno, maybe diseqc for your card isn't supported by the DVBViewer or it's a vista-problem. Strange that it's working with progdvb. Quote
Griga Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 Unfortunately DVBViewer doesn't know which method for sending DiSEqC commands to the FlyDVB-Trio resp. its driver must be applied. However, the device seems to be based on a known design. Medion hybrid cards (and others with Philips chipset) also identify themselves as "713x BDA DVBS Tuner". So we can try something: - Launch TransEdit (the version from the members area!) - Click Info -> Configuration Folder (opens an explorer window) - Close TransEdit. Open the file TransEdit.ini from the configuration folder with a text editor (NotePad) - Scroll down to the [Hardware] section and search the entry Vendor.1=0 (assuming it's the one for the DVB-S tuner - check it. The one for the DVB-T tuner will be Vendor.0=0 in this case. If it is the other way round, you must modify Vendor.0). - Now change Vendor.1=0 to Vendor.1=6, which will make TransEdit believe that it is a Medion card and apply the according DiSEqC method. - Save TransEdit.ini. Launch TransEdit and try. If it doesn't work, go to Settings -> Hardware and untick or tick the "Use Standard Interface" checkbox. Try again. If this doesn't work, you can also try Vendor.1=3 (same procedure as above). It will let TransEdit apply the TechnoTrend DiSEqC method, which is similar. If one of the attempts is successfull, we can do something about it in DVBViewer. Quote
Ataberk Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 Griga Yes, it worked with transedit exactly like you said. Changed Vendor.1=0 to Vendor.1=6 and transedit can switch between sattelites. But, how can i apply this tweak to DVBViewer? Quote
Griga Posted August 14, 2007 Posted August 14, 2007 But, how can i apply this tweak to DVBViewer? AFAIK it cannot be applied to DVBViewer Pro, because it re-creates the vendor information each time when it is launched. However, with DVBViewer GE (see members area, read the ReadMe!) it should be possible in a similar way. You have to change the Vendor.1 entry in the [Hardware] section of the file Setup.ini that is located in the configuration folder (again see Info -> Configuration Folder). I'm sure a FlyDVB-Trio detection (resulting in working DiSEqC) will be added in the next DVBViewer Pro version - it's just one additional line of code. I will inform the Pro devs about the matter. Ataberk Posted August 14, 2007 Author Posted August 14, 2007 OK. Thanks to you all for your interest. DVBViewer is an excellent program anyway. Quote
Osman Ateş Posted September 12, 2007 Posted September 12, 2007 How about your diseqc settings? Try with TransEdit. I also have exact the same problem. Whatever i have doen, i couldnt be able to switch to other satellite. This seems like DVBViewer's problem. What can i do? Quote
