Samurai Posted August 19, 2007 Posted August 19, 2007 I just installed V3.8.0.0 and ran the configuration wizard. All TV channels (DVB-T) were found and the signal strength is around 100% in all channels. Audio seems to coming at least mostly ok but the picture is like watching a video in a frame-by-frame mode, i.e. extremely slow and jerky and does not stay in sync with audio but leaves behind from audio signal. It is the same with every channel. I have a dual boot system. With Windows Vista I use the MS Media Center and have no problems with watching TV. The DVBViewer is installed on another partition on top of Windows XP MCE 2005 with update rollup 2. I guess it must be something simple that I simply have missed so far. Any ideas what switch to turn into the correct position...? Support.zip attached. support.zip Quote

Vista 32 bit works better with current drivers but windowsXP is the best coise for a mediacenter. No need for windows MCE, just plain vanilla XP home or pro. AC3 audio: better use AC3filter. I had problems with nero decoder, switched to powerDVD7. No idea on fddshow tho. You should enable HTfix cause you are using a dual core cpu OR, enable the option to stick to one core. Enable also the Nvidia fix since you are using a nvidia video card. This slow video: do you have it both with encrypted channels and FTA (free to air) channels? Note: I have also problems with dvbviewer3.8, not with 3.6 and it's cam related. Edited August 23, 2007 by Benarty Quote
Benarty Posted September 16, 2007 Posted September 16, 2007 (edited) My problem with jitterisch audio is solved. I removed dvd decoder software, ac3filter, DVBViewer Removed the floppy DTV drivers Started registrybooster to clean out left overs from CMUV and some driver stuff for floppy dtv. I'm not sure if this was needed. Then rebooted. Windows finds the floppyDTV, canceleld installation. Installed DVBViewer 3.8.0.0 , started and sure no hardware found. (obvious) Installed floppyDTV driver Started DVBViewer and checked if it could find the floppy DTV. it did not, needed a reboot to do so. Closed DVBViewer. installed powerDVD and Nvidia purevideo. Stared DVBViewer to and configured these in the options. Installed latest AC3filter. Started DVBViewer and changed the options again to add ac3filter. No sound problems, no video problems. I've added a S2 floppyDTV today. I wonder what will go wrong this time :-) Remind that it sure is not DVBviewers fault even when I was almost convinced that it was so. A computer is a matter of hardware, drivers and software , jerky stuff is most of the time driver related. Sometimes even hardware related. On software: one big exception: beta, the beta testst should lead to a stable piece of software, counts for drivers too but not much people want to test dodgy drivers and companies are pressed to sell their product as fast as possible.
