smilingcrow Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 I have just bought a Terratec dual DVB-T PCIe card and I’m testing using the Terratec software for recording whilst using DVBV for playback of video files only. Whilst the Terratec software is running DVBV refuses to display any video although the audio is fine. The video renderer is set to Overlay Mixer and the MPEG2 video decoder to System Default. I’ve tried other settings but nothing seems to help. Windows Media Player happily plays the same video so I figure there is just a setting that I need to change. Any ideas? I’m using a fresh install of version 3.8.0.0. with XP Pro SP2 support.zip Quote
Lars_MQ Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 First, no bug, but a newbe question. -> moved. Second set either DVBV or the other software to NOT use Overlay. One one overlay per system is allowed by windows. Quote
Benarty Posted September 2, 2007 Posted September 2, 2007 (edited) And don't use system defaults but select specific mpeg decoders. If you use system defaults that means that windows will choose the codec based on the merrit value and if more codec's are installed then this can lead to problems. Very good mpeg codec is cyberlinks powerDVD but you have installed power DVD7 so good choise. I have to admit: I also have problems with 3.8.0.0 Edited September 2, 2007 by Benarty Quote

I had already tried that as it seemed the obvious solution but couldn’t get it to work. I’ve now tried even more combinations and VMR7 with the Nero Decoder works just fine. The only one that works is the Nero codec as both the Cyberlink codecs give a corrupted image. One is from PowerDVD the other from the Terratec software. It’s a good job I have Nero installed as well. Quote
