adrian_b Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 Hi I have just upgraded to 3.8 (the day before 3.9 came out!) and am having difficulty getting things back the way they were. I use the Recorder Service Plugin, and until upgrading, I always had a DVB icon in the System Tray - EITHER the one for DVBV itself, OR the icon for the Recording Service... Now the icon for the Service isn't shown. I spent a while thinking that the service wasn't working, but aparrently it is. Is there any way to ensure that the icon is displayed? Thanks Adrian Quote
Moses Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 run DVBCrtl.exe from the DVBViewer folder. But 3.8 should have deinstalled the old service, because it's incompatible with 3.8 (and later). Since 3.8 the service is not included in the normal setup anymore and you'll have to install the latest beta of the service manually. Quote

As you suggest, I have run DVBCrtl.exe from the DVBViewer folder and I now have the tray icon... two further questions : What have I just run? What is the purpose of DVBCrtl.exe ? Will that interfere with the recorder service running? Will I need to do that after each reboot (or but a shortcut in the startup folder) ? Thanks Adrian Quote
Lars_MQ Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 two further questions : I count three. What have I just run? What is the purpose of DVBCrtl.exe ? A windows service does not interact with the user. the systemtray app is the interface between service and user. Will that interfere with the recorder service running? It is designed to work with the service. Will I need to do that after each reboot (or but a shortcut in the startup folder) ? rightclick the icon in the system tray. you will be surprise of what I do think of... Quote
adrian_b Posted October 4, 2007 Author Posted October 4, 2007 I count three. I thought of another one! Thanks. Have clicked autostart... ONE more question...(unrelated) How is the order of channels in the EPG determined? They seem to be randomly sequenced at the moment... Thanks Adrian Quote
Lars_MQ Posted October 4, 2007 Posted October 4, 2007 by the channellist. or what ever filter sorting order you use. Quote
