Htpc recording solution

What do you think would be the ideal way to do timed recordings With following conditions:

1. It should be possible to record several channels from two different transponders at the same time.(ofcourse with two tuners)

2. Preferably having the main DVBViewer program not running during timed recordings.

3. But still it should be possible to start the normal DVBViewer to watch the channels from those two transponders without disturbing possible ongoing recordings. But still DVBViewer should disallow attempts at changing to channels outside those two transponders..

is it possible to achieve those goals with any sollutions?

1. should working with DVBViewer/Rec.Service.

2. working with Rec.Service but 3. is than not possible.

3. Is possible if you not use Rec.Service. Use DVB Task Scheduler to start DVBViewer. Select "Start DVBViewer minimized" and "Restart DVBViewer Without Tunig Last Channel" and select in DVBViewer disable AV (for Recordings).

The DVBViewer do the recording silence and minimized.

I'm using a remote to control my htpc. One button starts DVBViewer in fullscreen. That button runs either a script file or an executable. This works fine if DVBViewer isn't already running. But if it happens to be running due to a scheduled recording, is there a way to make it get focus and go fullscreen? ie. is there a script/program which would either run DVBViewer or bring it to front if it is already running on background?

And thanks for all the help.

Try ...\DVBViewer.exe -x5 for fullscreen. For other parameter look in the actions.ini.

I think you misunderstood me. The problem isn't starting DVBViewer fullscreen but getting DVBViewer from background to focus and fullscreen with the same program/script that would if DVBViewer isn't running also start it.

ie. the same button on my remote starts DVBViewer if it isn't running but if it is running on the background due to a recording, brings it to front.

First I thought I had tested it, but now after more thorough tests it seems to work almost perfectly. Thank you

Only minor clitch is that it wont start fullscreen when first started. You need to run the script again. Probably some problems with my crappy remote control software.

Thanks for the tip :bye:
