fatdiver Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 Installed DVBViewer yesterday and haven't managed to make a recording yet - program closes within 30 seconds of a timeshift or manual record and displays the user/password prompt before closing. I guess it's something specific with my installation as I couldn't find anything similar in the forum (support file attached) Here's what I've tried so far without any success: recording to a new folder recording to a new disk uninstalling video codecs disabling AVG antivirus disabling windows firewall recording audio only disabling the sound card the program will also crash in the same way when not recording - it just takes longer to happen - maybe 20 minutes or so. I have a Technotrend S2-3200 dvb card, an NVDIA GeoForce 8600GT and a C-Media sound card Any help or suggestions gratefully accepted support.zip Quote

fatdiver Posted October 28, 2007 Author Posted October 28, 2007 Please make sure your user data is entered correctly. upper/lowercase does matter. I can access all the program settings and view tv channels (until it crashes) - I guess that means I entered the login details OK? Quote
charlieram Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 I can access all the program settings and view tv channels (until it crashes) - I guess that means I entered the login details OK? probably not as the symptoms you describe are similar to bootleg copies! Quote
Tjod Posted October 28, 2007 Posted October 28, 2007 probably not as the symptoms you describe are similar to bootleg copies! In this case i think it is not a bootleg copy. But there is some thing wrong with user/password because the user/password prompt is only displayed if thy are incorrect. Quote

Certainly not a bootleg copy, I purchased it at the weekend and used thr user name/password I received (which seems to work fine). I've done several re-installs but always get the same symptoms - any ideas? Quote
Moses Posted October 29, 2007 Posted October 29, 2007 (edited) if the prompt shows up at the beginning or from time to time, then the data is not correct. This scheme was implemented to nag people with bootleg copies a bit more. Be double sure that you typed (or copied) the data in correctly... and your "username" is your email address. There was some one lately that mixed something up there. Another point is vista... did you run DVBViewer explicitely (right click!) with administration rights in the first place? If not, try to do so, now, but it may be that there is already something strange going on in vista with virtual registry paths and so on... Edited October 29, 2007 by Moses Quote
EMKO Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 i have the exactly same problem the program does run for a while and then it asks me for user/password then it closes if i try to recored after 15seconds it does the same thing Quote
hackbart Posted October 31, 2007 Posted October 31, 2007 I think i mentioned it in a post earlier and named this as FCKW-Problem. Please if you have had some illegal version before, you have to remove the whole application + all settings + all recordings you made. Christian Quote

MichaelJ Posted December 2, 2007 Posted December 2, 2007 Yeah tried that several times but no joy. I reinstalled windows vista from scratch and all OK now thanks Hello, I have seen what I believe is the same behaviour. After working initially DVBViewer decided to ask for username / password - and even if I entered the correct data it didn't seem to accept them. I ended up un-installing DVBViewer and found that it didn't remove all traces it left a few behind. You also have to remove a few folders and entries in regedit: C:\ProgramData\CMUV\ C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\CMUV * Remove a few entries in the register database: Virtualstore/MACHINE/SOFTWARE/CM&V HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/CM&V This worked for a period - then it started to ask again. Reza Sadeghi Posted January 24, 2010 Posted January 24, 2010 (edited) I found the Solution. I am a Legal Registered DVBViewer Customer. I installed DVBViewer with my own User/Pass before and there was not any problem untill this new versions of DVBViewer on this new DVBViewer 4.2.1.0 after installing with my correct legal own User/Pass but there is error message called "Error in User Data please check User data is correct" while i am sure it is correct. i searched the Forum but not any solution clearly but just all members told us please use Legal registered DVBViewer and i messed up. But today... i found why this problem happened. after i installed new DVBViewer i copied last Channel Lists and Favorites to New DVBViewer Installation Folder. so that old Channel Lists make the problem while sure the user/pass is correct and i purchased it also can entering Memeber Section of DVBViewer Website with that user/pass and downloaded the Setup file. now after installing DVBViewer with correct user data and did not copied Old Channel Lists and Favorites to new location. instead i scanned Satellites and rearrange and build new Channel List and Favorite List although it takes me a lot of time and i missed my own Old Favorites but at least there is not any Error Message after about 30 Minutes tells me "Error in User Data and please ...." I purchased DVBViewer and sure it is correct. soooo now... I ham so happy using DVBViewer and so happy purchasing DVBViewer and help & Support DVBViewer Developer. Thank you so much.
