John M Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 Greetings, 1-After finding transponders in TransEdit, I am unable to send result to DVBViewer. a message comes up saying "Sorry ,unable to save to (in my case) Optus 1600.ini. 2- I would like to make a new install of DVBViewer, but Uninstall.exe says is missing. Any help or suggestions would be welcome. Regards, JohnM Quote
Moses Posted October 30, 2007 Posted October 30, 2007 1. You could save the ini under any other name. Maybe you should check if the original one is write protected or something like that... 2. Just delete the DVBViewer folder and the configuration folder. DVBViewer tells you the configuration folder in about->configuration folder. After that you can install in the same directory. That's clean enough for DVBViewer, because all settings are saved in the configuration folder except license information. Quote

I am still not having any success in getting Transedit to send new transponders to DVDviewer Pro- still says unable to save. Do you know where Transedit output file is sent or what it is called? Another problem I have is with Channel List Editor. After editing transponder,(by changing selected transponder from Vertical to Horizontal) and going to Scan, the transponder polarity remains unchanged on Vertical when scanned-- (if I can get this to work I have no real need to use Transedit. ) Regarding DVBviewr uninstall I'll leave this for later action. I thank you for your patience over my dumb queries, but some of these basic issues are not well covered in the manual. Best regards JohnM Quote
Griga Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 Make sure that TransEdit.exe is located in the DVBViewer program directory (where DVBViewer.exe is). Try to export directly to the DVBViewer channel list (use the Send button in the scanner window after selecting the desired channels). Check where the configuration folder is located. Follow Moses' hint (see above). Make sure that Windows (XP or Vista?) allows you to change files in this folder. Quote
ricabullah Posted November 2, 2007 Posted November 2, 2007 You should make a full uninstall and reinstall. First of all, make all hidden files appear. Uninstall Viewer For XP you will find configuration folder (CMUV) here: C/Documents and settings/All Users(or Default user/or John M)/Application Data/Local Settings/DVBViewer/CMUV For Vista you will find two CMUVs. (check this: Visit Topic Delete remaining CMUV. Reinstall the program. Extract Transedit into DVBViewer main folder. (C/ProgramFiles/DVBViewer) Find new CMUV(s), find Transponders folder under CMUV. Clean all the inis in this folder. Download needed inis from here to Transponders folder(the folder under CMUV) sat inis Scan with Transedit (Transedit will recognize the inis you downloaded) After scanning finished "select all" and export to Transponders Folder under C/ProgramFiles/DVBViewerPro/Transponders) Open Viewer "import" scanned ini-from where you exported- and "save" That is the best way.
