Bjur Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 I don't have the newest version, and would like to install it, but should I install over the older version or unistall it first. And how does I make it save my settings? Quote
Bjur Posted November 3, 2007 Author Posted November 3, 2007 Nevermind. Have just installed over previous version. Quote
Stevieg_73 Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Is it possible to install the new version without uninstalling the old version ?? I have finally got everything working besides the thingy with the "DVB EPG" getting ticked automaticaly and i want to test the new version without destroying my old. So is it possible to have 2 working version on the computer at the same time ?? Quote
Moses Posted November 3, 2007 Posted November 3, 2007 Yes it is. But you have to be sure that they have use two different DVBViewer folders and two different configuration folders! So if you installed the first DVBViewer with usermode=2, that means "for all users", you should be sure to install the second one in another mode, for example only for the current user or let the configuration stay in the DVBViewer folder (which won't work in vista). There is another way to have two configurations: Just copy the DVBViewer folder, to, let's say "DVBViewer2", then go to the configuration folder and copy it, too, for example if configuration folder 1 is in C:\...\ApplicationData\CMUV\DVBViewer copy it to C:\...\ApplicationData\CMUV\DVBViewer2, then go to the program folder of your second DVBViewer (so that's the DVBViewer2 folder you created earlier), and change the usermode.ini so that it says Root="CMUV\DVBViewer2". Then you'll have two independt DVBViewer with the same version and configuration. You can now update one of them to another version and the other one won't recognize it. Quote
