Freezing / corrupted recordings firedtv

Some of my recordings have picture corruption, or freezes for 1 or 2 seconds and then resumes. Also some of my recordings (which appear visual correct) have moren then 80 errors in the recording text file under [stats] section.

I only use dbviewer to record, and i don't watch the file's on the same computer. I watch the file's on my dvico tvix 4100 and severall other computers and they all show the same picture corruptions/freeze's at the exact same spot so the recording is indeed faulty.

I use DVBViewer with a/v disabled (default disable av option under actions) and minimized in the system tray.

I record the file's in video/audio PS (*.mpg).

My signal strength is 100% according to DVBViewer.

I use the smart buffer (tried at 2 and 100 mb).

I Tried the option DVD packet size but that didn't help.

i Have connected the firedtv at the firewire connector of my sb live.

I do own an samsung hd dvb-c receiver which has single errors on the same cai socket.

I have included my support file from the support tool.

Any suggestions are welcome, getting an bit desperate about this.

Also how many error's are acceptable in the [ stats ] section for an recording of 1 hour ?

Many thnx in advance

none !

It seems that you have to improve your signal quality. The indicator 100% is misleading.

If i visual inspect the cai signal it looks rather good, i already updated my complete cai installation with all hirschmann and an professional cai hirschmann amp. Maybe u know an other way to check signal quality and strenght of an firedtv-c ?

i found out that the firedtv support tool from digital-everywhere also can measure signal strength, and it reports on all channels 100%.

It better be :bounce: becouse i spend an fortune on my cai system in my home, becouse befor the firedtv i always captured my shows analog with 2 hauppauge pvr-350 card's so i needed an good analog cai signal.

After some more investigation, i found out that almost all the error's are made in the first second of the recording. I couldn't get it reliable fixed so i wen't the other way which also solve's some other problem's i had with DVBViewer.

Here for i used the ts option in DVBViewer, the ts file's are smaller and it should be an exact copy of the stream

In delphi i wrote an little app which put's all my recording's thru projectx create's an dir on my central storage and copy's the remuxed ts file to my central storage in the appropiate directory. And send's me an email with the recording info en the stat file.

This run's now for some day's and have solved all my problem'with the mpeg2 hd and sd file's.

Only i made the app so that the hd 264 stream's are converted to mkv with h264tsto, the resulting file play's perfect on my computer but my dvico drop's sound after 5-6 min in the file.

The hd problem aside the combination of epgplus and DVBViewer is finally replacing gb-pvr which did it for me for over 5 years.
