espeneppi Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 When i tune into a dvb-s2/h264 channel the picture starts to lag after 30secs/1min. Attaching support.zip support.zip Quote
Eson Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 Have the exact same problem and Im also using Vista. I pretty sure thats the culprit since the exact same setup with the exact same codecs works fine in XP. Quote
mtb Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 Hi, Just wanted to know if you got this problem sorted, I'm having the same problem on XP. THANKS Quote
thehawk Posted June 27, 2008 Posted June 27, 2008 Vista here as well and also have these issues. The rebuild graph option seems to fix it, but not always. I already asked this a couple of weeks ago but got no reply. Quote
Klaus_1250 Posted June 28, 2008 Posted June 28, 2008 What kind of graphics card are you using? Does it have h264 acceleration? Which codecs? The only time I've seen the same issues (on XP) is when using either software-decoding (coreavc / ffdshow) or using hardware acceleration with some sort of post-processing (ATi MPEG decoders). Quote

I get this too. But only when I use the vista EVR renderer in combination with Cyberlink H.264 codec (ie only on BBCHD channel). I have a nvidia 8500gt card which apparently has hardware decoding (although it doesnt seem to reduce the cpu cycles over coreavc) I can switch away from EVR and the problem disappears, thus I'm blaming the visa EVR renderer. (however it provides the best pciture) Edited June 30, 2008 by poggs Quote
poggs Posted June 30, 2008 Posted June 30, 2008 Update! I have done a number of fidgets and this is the only way I can get the lag to go away. Install the EVR update as mentioned in the other thread (this may have no effect as I did it before doing anything else). Then I checked the filter through the view > filters > cyberlink H.264 where I played around with all the settings for a bit. I found that if I set DxVA to on and video mode to forced Bob, the lag after a minute problem is no more! Now I have no idea if this is a permanent fix, but if it is, how do I go about putting this in a faq somewhere? Quote
