Hi,

How is DVBViewer handle playing MP3 files, does it use an build-in filter or external filters?

I have a few songs that gives me error "0x80040217".

Thise mp3 files play fine in all my other players, (VLC, MM Media Player, Mediaplayer Clasic).

Is it anyway I can edit some filter parameters in DVBViwer for MP3 files?

PS. I'm using the latest version 3.9.2 on XP SP2

Thanks,

Digi

Thanks Lars,

Any sugestion how I can fix this, I mean it should work since it works just fine in MS Media Player.

I have tried to remove all codecs I don't need with no luck on this issue.

Is it any tool I can use to check, set the default MP3 filter?

Possible reason: A standard DirectShow component for MP3 handling (MPEG-I Stream Splitter from Microsoft) is not able to detect the MP3 content in a file, mostly due to huge ID3 tags at the beginning, containing an album cover as image or such.

This can be solved by installing the MP3 Parser Filter.

The View -> Filters menu in DVBViewer shows which DirectShow filters are actually used for playback.
