doesn't skip tuners in use

I've noticed that if the first tuner on my tuner list is in use by another application that DVBViewer keeps trying to use that tuner despite the fact that a tuner further down the list is free. How do I fix this?

Thanks,

Disable the device in the hardware options.

I want it to use the first tuner on the list unless that tuner is in use, then use the second, if the second is in use, use the third, etc.

If you use more than one dvb_application, you have to take measures that there are no hardware collisions..

I'm using DVB Web Scheduler Pro to schedule my recordings. It enables me to set the order in which it uses tuner devices and I have set its tuner device list in reverse order to the DVBViewer device list.

DVB Web Scheduler is smart enough to use the first unused tuner on its list and it would be great if I could get DVBViewer to do the same rather than keep trying to use a tuner in use by another application.

Me too.

To solve your problem choose the last tuner of your WS list as the first (or only) choice of your DVBViewer list. You should avoid the two DVB software devices fighting over the same tuner at any time. If WS is programmed to use all the available tuners at any time you will not be able to use DVBViewer at that time.

Well the biggest problem will be your recordings will have discontinuities means are defective. Most bda drivers don't like being disturbed.

That's the reason the DVBViewer and all connected programs have a complex syncronisation scheme for the devices. They (the pro, ge, server, service, transedit) communicate with each other and will never use a device which is used by another instance of one of the programs...
