greminn Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Hi There, Having just purchased this excellent software. I hooked up the old arieal and now have the new New Zealand FreeView HD channels working in Tauranga, New Zealand. how ever i would really like to get the DVB-S channels working as well. Is this possible? Simon Quote
Lars_MQ Posted March 27, 2008 Posted March 27, 2008 Well DVB-S won't work with a old arieal, you need a satellite dish. Quote
greminn Posted March 27, 2008 Author Posted March 27, 2008 (edited) Well DVB-S won't work with a old arieal, you need a satellite dish. DOH! Yea, already sorted! The DVB-T connected to the arieal and the DVB-S side of things connected to the SKY Dish (this works well in MCE2005 - setup on dual boot). I just wanted to know how to now scan for the DVB-S channels. We are using Optus D1 (but there is no setting for this in the Transponder list for this). Note: This is the regedit file that made the DVB-S work in MCE2005, i dont know if this would help in getting the corect settings working?: REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HCW88bda\DVBS_as_DVBT] [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HCW88bda\DVBS_as_DVBT\177500] ; #5 "dvbs_freq"=dword:BE1040 ; 12456000 "dvbs_polarity"=dword:1 ; 1 "dvbs_srate"=dword:57E4 ; 22500 "nit_onid"=dword:2F ; 47 "nit_tsid"=dword:15 ; 21 "nit_nid"=dword:1 ; 1 "DiSEqC_Port"=dword:0 ; 0 "dvbs_LowOsc"=dword:A40830 ; 10750000 "dvbs_HighOsc"=dword:A40830 ; 10750000 "dvbs_SwitchFreq"=dword:0 ; 0 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\HCW88bda\DVBS_as_DVBT\184500] ; #6 "dvbs_freq"=dword:BE79B8 ; 12483000 "dvbs_polarity"=dword:1 ; 1 "dvbs_srate"=dword:57E4 ; 22500 "nit_onid"=dword:2F ; 47 "nit_tsid"=dword:16 ; 22 "nit_nid"=dword:1 ; 1 "DiSEqC_Port"=dword:0 ; 0 "dvbs_LowOsc"=dword:A40830 ; 10750000 "dvbs_HighOsc"=dword:A40830 ; 10750000 "dvbs_SwitchFreq"=dword:0 ; 0 Edited March 27, 2008 by greminn Quote
mike.trotter Posted June 24, 2008 Posted June 24, 2008 I've got HVR-3000 and can get it to work dvb-t OR dvb-s, but not at the same time. ie it's an either / or. the hd dvb-t picture is good, but I'm about to revert back to using the SD dvb-s tuner as I can't sort out hw acceleration and it's too stuttery just running on the CPU.
