cekoperte Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 I have a skystar2 card installed with technisat 4.28 drivers; normal channels work just fine, but I have huge problems with channels that I think are scpc. I can not see them at all even if the frequency and all the other data are correct. I am trying to make it work at 18 W: I can see PRIMA TV there with my Nokia 9500 but not with DVBViewer. Still the signal is at about 80%, but sometimes it goes down to 0 for a second and then it get back to 80%. The screen remains black all the time anyway. Same problems with the NBA feeds on the same sat at 18 West, with the only difference that they are in 4-2-2 so of course I can not see them with my Nokia neither (audio is working on Nokia, not on DVBViewer). With ProgDVB same thing, even if for some seconds I've been able to see the NBA feeds, but just for an instant and then never more. Athlon 2600, windows XP (but same problems with Windows 2000) Any advice will be welcome! Quote
Guest hackbart Posted November 9, 2003 Posted November 9, 2003 To get 4:2:2 feeds running you need a codec which is able to understand this format. I suppose at the moment only the elecard codec is running fine. The fullversion is supporting different mpeg codecs. To check how and if it works for you i recommend to download graphedit and to read chapter 10 of the DVBViewer manual (www.DVBViewer.com/~oliver). Cheers Christian Quote
cekoperte Posted November 10, 2003 Author Posted November 10, 2003 Thanx a lot for the answer, still I think the problem is mostly not about 4-2-2 format of the MPEG but about the SCPC format of the channel. I say that because with DVBViewer I can not see Prima TV neither that instead works without problems on my nokia 9500 - so it's surely not 4-2-2. Does anyone know about the compatibility of the skystar2 with scpc channels? Could it be a driver-related problem? Thanx again! Quote
Derrick Posted November 10, 2003 Posted November 10, 2003 ..unless the symbole rate is not too small, SS2 is performing well with spcp. Alas, the tuning can be a problem. Check your .ini files, they must have the exact paramters of the wanted transponders. If tuning still fails, you'll have to edit an existing channel (also the pids) and add it to your list. Quote
alex7 Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Hello, please have you managed to make the card to work ? I have just bought this card nothing but for feed channels ! I am so disapointed,no scpc channels work.Damn it was clearly written on the website where I bought the card it is SCPC compatible ! Damn cheaters ! Please let me know, Alex Quote
Breffni Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Strange, I have always used, without any problems the SS2/DVBViewer combination for SCPC feeds, 4:2:2 and not-. Even on 12.5 West, 21 West, 34.5 West and 37.5 West and never had any problems. I have a 240cm offset dish, but the signals were strong enough even on a 1m dish (Rome Area) Regards Breffni Quote
alex7 Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 Hello Breffni, does it mean you need a very big dish to be able to receive feed channels ? Alex Quote
Breffni Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 No, it depends where you live and if you are within the footprint of the particular satellite you want to pick up. Breffni Quote
alex7 Posted November 17, 2003 Posted November 17, 2003 So the problem is not here.I can get every other channels without any problems.Channels with a sybole rate of 27500 and 22000 work perfectly, every others just don't. Alex Quote
