rosen Posted April 2, 2008 Posted April 2, 2008 If watching one program which is sent in 16:9 and then switching to another program sent in 4:3 DVBViewer is not showing the correct format. It shows the 4:3 in at stretched 16:9 format. Picture format is set to Automatic Quote

rosen Posted April 2, 2008 Author Posted April 2, 2008 Please post some more information:http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=2210 Here is the steps to reproduce the problem. I have attached a file with two pictures showing the error. The strange thing is, that the problem only is related to my computer using my wide screen TV as monitor (16:9 format 1360*768 resolution) On my other computer using a 4:3 monitor (1280*1024) everything is OK My Picture format setting in DVBViewer is set to "Auto" 1. Starting DVBViewer and selecting a channel which is broadcasting a tv-program in 16:9. Everything OK so far 2. Switching to a channel broadcasting a TV-program in 4:3. The statusbar correctly indicates, that this is a 4:3 broadcasting, but the picture is stretched and in-correctly shown in stretched 16:9. The only way to show a 4:3 broadcasting in the correct way is to restart DVBViewer and selecting the channel with the 4:3 broadcasting as the first channel. If I afterwards switch to a 16:9 program and then back again the 4:3 tv-program again is stretched to 16:9 See attached file for picture samples support.zip Quote
RR7 Posted April 16, 2008 Posted April 16, 2008 i had a problem with the aspect not adjusting correctly, yet if i went to the OSD and back out again it adjusted. it turned out to be a bug or problem with the nvidia decoder and DVBViewer. i only found this out when i tried media portal and discovered that the decoder is responsible for telling the viewer whether the signal is 16:9 or 4:3 now i am using the sonic decoder, which seems to have resolved that issue..and created other problems Quote
