Stuttering playback with Cyberlink codecs

My setup consists of the following:

Core2 Duo 6600, 2GB Ram,Vista 32 SP1, 8600GT, 174.74 Beta Driver, Latest DVBViewer including Beta.

I have been unable to keep smooth playback using either cyberlink 7 or 8 codecs in combination with EVR renderer with either H264 or mpeg streams.

The problem appears to occur randomly from within seconds to 20mins or so.

All other renderers are much worse in terms of smoothness and picture quality.

The only decoder I have found to keep smooth playback especially with HD H264 channels is the Mainconcpt version 3.0.7299.0.

However the problem with this codec is that there is lots of colour bleed with fast motion and with BBCHD it is impossible to get the proper aspect ratio.

I would be extremely grateful if anybody can advise any method to overcome these issues.

I have also tried coeravc arcsoft & ffdshow

hey,

I have had the same problem and worked endlessly to find a solution, the only work around I found was to install WinXP SP2 with cyberlink 7 (or 8 will do), and in direct X, choose the VMR7 renderer, seems the 8600GT card does not work fine with Vista 32 bit.

I recently (about 10 days ago) changed my graphics card to an Asus EAH3870, which seems to work a lot better with Vista using EVR (I tried with the 3.9.3.41 beta), you can forget about the rest of the renderers, but I am still faced with blurry images and still see pixels when there is motion in the image.

Not saying you need to do what I have done, but if you can get to install winXP SP2 instead of Vista, you might be a bit better off.

Thanks

If it is a 8600GT issue can anybody confirm any other graphics cards which do work well with Vista.

Same problem with 2600pro and 9600GT under Vista.

Everything o.k. with XP/overlay...

hours and hours, days and days, no solution...

Which chipset do you use on the mainboard ?

Mine is Intel 945GC on Asrock 1333-GLAN...

May be we find a common worse chipset...

Best regards

Well, I've got an Asus M3N78-VM mobo with built-in NVidea 8200 graphics. Working great with BBC HD! I've tried most of the obvious codecs and they all work. Using Cyberlink, the processor is below 20%. It worked straight off with DVBViewer but with some other MCE software I had to play with the Video Rendering options.

Have you tried Overlay Mixer? I found it to be most stable?? god knows why, also i use CoreAVC with my ATI HD3650 - Should be even better with your graphics card if it invokes Cuda as CoreAVC has cuda support for offloading....
