rio9210 Posted May 9, 2008 Posted May 9, 2008 I bought recently a Skystar HD2 PCI (Diseqc 1.2 DVB card) because my old Skystar 2 didn't worked with my Moteck SG2100 motor (Diseqc 1.2 with GotoX function). Same problem now, there's non way to get the dish moved with DVBViewer PRO. The "Diseqc Editor" and the "POSITIONER" console seems to be there more like a kind of "easter-eggs" buttons, nothing on this side works properly and the interactivity between DVBViewer and the dish motor is ZERO. 15 euros thrown away ? Hope no, although the indications for payment are FAST AND CLEVER, but abpit assistence no word anywhere (I tried to call in Germany but got an automatic answer in german...did you know Mr. Hackbart that you're selling your program overseas ?). I'm stuck with this sellers that once you've paid the money, there's no way to contact them and get (any) kind of support. A (disappointed) user of DVBViewer PRO, Florin C. Quote

You do realise that the software performs other exciting tasks other than to merely 'rotate your pole', I believe it offers some sort of DVB functionality, though I could be wrong. Quote
rio9210 Posted May 9, 2008 Author Posted May 9, 2008 ...and yet you seem to have found a forum which offers exactly the support you claim doesn't exist. You do realise that the software performs other exciting tasks other than to merely 'rotate your pole', I believe it offers some sort of DVB functionality, though I could be wrong. By the way, your answer brings no support to my problems . And about those "exciting tasks", one of them is "ROTATE MY POLE", like the software claims. I'm not asking the moon, I just want a solution to a SOFTWARE problem which is related to a malfunction in that software's "exciting features". I've posted the question here because there's non way to "interact" with those guys who's making that software, I think they're the most appropriate persons to give answers related to their "creature" (DVBViewer). If someone (aka other normal users of this software) have a solution, they're welcome. But I think the word "SUPPORT" have to do even with the sellers/programmers of the software, otherwise I think a fee of their revenues "belong" to the users which answer to the forum's question (I'm joking, obviously) P.S. My personal oppinion is the price is too low, DVBViewer is one of the best pieces of DVB software out here, but this flaw (diseqc implementation) seriously "damage" the name of this software and could be a reason for which someone choose another software instead oh this one. Best regards, Florin C. Quote
cazhug Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 (edited) i am using the sg2100 and a nova dvb-s2 hd card and DVBViewer moves my dish without a problem. it took some reading on here to figure it out but it really is simple. assuming your card is supported and your dish is set up correctly, heres how i do it. enter your lat and long in the diseqc editor and apply it. now lets say your dish is pointing at 13e,go to scan channels. in the root box put something like 13e choose hotbird or whatever from the transponder box. choose use positioner. in usals choose position 1.this is the pre-stored position in the motor. scan range. all being well you now have 13e in your channel list. repeat this procedure for 19e using position 2 in usals. your dish should move and start scanning. the positions are in the manual. from memory 1w is 8, 28.2e is 18, 1w is 8,30w is 14 etc. clicking on any channel in your list will move the dish to it. hope this helps. cazhug Edited May 10, 2008 by cazhug Quote

Darwin Posted May 10, 2008 Posted May 10, 2008 The "GotoAngelar"-command does the whole USALS-job! Correct and reliable. (using DVBV 3.9.2.0, TT budget S2 3200 v5.0.0.15, WinXP SP2 and positions from 28.2E to 43W) Use the DiSEqC-editor to persist your own geo-position (longitude/latitude), in embedded channellisteditor choose DiSEqC-option "GotoAngelar" and use the USALS dropdown-list for the right Position. Scan => Ready! (assuming correct .ini-files) If it doesn't work: Look at the driver of your card! It's for sure not a DVBViewer problem... Quote
