Auto remember playback position for MP2 audio files

I love the fact that DVB remembers the last playback position for my video files but I really wish it would do the same for MP2 files. I record a lot of radio shows which tend to be longer than my TV shows so the ability to remember the last playback position would be very useful.

 

This should be easy to add I assume so maybe you could add a feature where you can select which file types have this feature active. I imagine many people wouldn’t want to use it for MP3 files for instance.

I’d be very grateful if one of the development team would explain how difficult it is to add this feature and whether it could be added via a plugin. I’m a Delphi developer so I’d consider coding the plugin myself.
