Crash & BS on Vista UAC pop-up

Recommended Posts

Posted (edited)

Hello,

I've noticed that DVBViewer crashes whenever Vista's UAC pops up. After the crash if I try to open the program again it will cause a blue screen. I normally do a lot of multitasking with my computer and this of course means that while DVBViewer is open, I can't do anything that would require UAC's attention.

Since this is the only problem I have with the program, I guess it's got something to do with DVBViewer's compatibility (or the lack of it) with Vista and maybe that should be improved. I know many have hatred towards the OS, but it's very good if the programs are just made to work for it. ;)

My TV is AF9015, motherboard is Asus P5K and GPU is 9800 GTX with newest drivers. My OS is Vista SP1 and this is all shown in the support.zip I attached as well.

First thing: this has never been reported.

second thing: this is not a complete support.zip, please check your installation

third thing: never ever install ther DVBViewer in vista in usermode=0.

It's not reported because it's not a problem of DVBViewer. I have DVB-T based on AF9015, it bluescreens vista 64 regulary with or w/o DVBViewer ;) . Only solution I've found is to use XP 32bit.

What do you mean with usermode=0? In usermode.ini it says so, but what does it mean? I re-installed my DVBViewer in Vista's super admin account and it still shows usermode=0.

Well, I installed it with usermode 2 now. I did a couple of tests and DVBViewer didn't mind the UAC pop-ups at all. I don't know if it was just about the usermode, but it seems to be working now. Thanks
