General info popup

I'm fairly new to DVBViewer, so forgive me if this feature exists already and I just haven't worked out how to achieve it.

One thing I'd like to be able to do is use my remote to pop up a window that indicates just what DVBViewer is up to at the present time. Something much like what the status bar indicates on the bottom of the window. I use DVBViewer in fullscreen mode, so this status bar isn't visible. If this feature doesn't exist already, I get the impression that I might be able to achieve this using existing functionality built into the OSD system. That is, I think I can create my own XML file that describes the popup information I'd like to include. Is there some documentation out there that can give me a bit of a tutorial on how do manipulate the OSD. I've been poring through the xml files (and VBScripts) themselves, but it's been pretty slow going.

Also, when changing channels a small popup appears briefly in the top left of the screen that indicates the new channel number and name. This works well unless I select channel 0. In this case, nothing appears at all. Is this something I can address/fix myself, or is it just the way DVBViewer works? (Side note, is there some way I can change the information displayed when this popup appears? I figure that there is a XML file somewhere that specifies what is to be displayed, but for the life of me I can't work out which one it is.

On the subject of changing channels, is there some way I can change the mapping of channels to channel numbers. The only way I've found at present to do this is to re-order the channels themselves using the channel editor. This isn't ideal as I'd like that order to be different from the ordering of the channel numbers.

Thanks for any help.

Hello,

first read this -> http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=27050, thats the reason why the links not working at this time

some of the infos are visible in OSD-Info (htpcHome -> theInfos) if you would more infos you can edit the OSD with the skineditor -> http://www.DVBViewer.com/de/index.php?page=downloads

there is also a tool dvbspy -> http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=15589 (attachment)

this tool show you all informations you can get.

I think I can create my own XML file that describes the popup information I'd like to include
download the skin editor and edit the pages, if the DVBViewer.com server is running again

when changing channels a small popup appears briefly in the top left of the screen that indicates the new channel number and name. This works well unless I select channel 0. In this case, nothing appears at all
the channel 0 will be switched immediately, because, there is no number you can add for a higher positioned channel ( it gives no channels 01 or something ;) )

if you want to go very fast to a certain channel, put this on the number 0.

The only way I've found at present to do this is to re-order the channels themselves using the channel editor.
thats correct. the order in channel editor is the order by using number keys

there is a small tool ChNumbers, with this you can put specific channels on specific numbers -> http://www.DVBViewer.info/forum/index.php?showtopic=15526

Thanks for that prompt reply.

I got the skin editor from some other forum in the end as DVBViewer.com was down. I'll see how I get on.

I'm off to get dvbspy now. It sounds useful.
