elion Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Hello. I've read, read, and read...and cannot come up with answers so I'm hoping someone out there can help. I am left even more confused after searching the forums because a setup.xml /setup.ini file is mentioned, but I have neither There is mention of an HTPC display option instead of windowed, but my options screen does not have this setting According to the help, my version is 3.9.4 When I paid, was I supposed to download something additional?? As of now, I can't use this software, although it seems promising. I've installed and everything seems to be okay. However, when I scan, I get channels but they all are listed as "unkown" Is there a setting I'm missing? In other software I have to change the PAT, PMT, SDT setting, but I don't see anywhere to do this in DVBViewer. Quote
Griga Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 Which DVB network do you want to receive? Cable, terrestrial, satellite, American ATSC type? Without specifying it nobody will be able to help you. Quote
elion Posted July 13, 2008 Author Posted July 13, 2008 Which DVB network do you want to receive? Cable, terrestrial, satellite, American ATSC type? Without specifying it nobody will be able to help you. I apologize for not providing enough info. I'm using dvbs and scanning one transponder echostar 3. It returns channels, but they all are in an unknown folder. (I'm using no switch and he same LOF1, sw, LOF2 setting as I've used in many other dvbs programs) When I open the unknown folder for each channel it says "service"...# I am assuming that the # is the channel number. I've tried accessing "Service213" in order to confirm that is is the NASA channel (Free channel...of course) and I get no video....which is another issue im tackling. For right now, I'm just wondering if the channels are supposed to display this way or is the timeout no proper? I'm using Twinhan1027a Signal is about 80% DPP Twin LNB Vista LOF1 11250 SW 0 LOF2 14350 Thanks for any ideas or suggestions. Quote
Griga Posted July 13, 2008 Posted July 13, 2008 I'm using dvbs and scanning one transponder echostar 3. Ah yes, EchoStar / Dish Network - I can remember. They are not broadcasting the service names in a DVB compliant way. That's why DVBViewer can't find them. The forum search / Google forum search would have given you some results. There is a specialized scanner application - TransEdit (see members area) - that provides a work-around for this kind of issue. It will get a bit complicated, however. That's not due to DVBViewer, but to the broadcaster. After storing TransEdit.exe in program files\DVBViewer, you'll have to modify the transponder list for EchoStar 3 (2985.ini), that is located in Configuration Folder\Transponders (see Info -> Configuration Folder in TransEdit resp. About -> Configuration Folder in DVBViewer Pro). Close TransEdit, open the file with a text editor (NotePad) and insert the line SDTO=1 in the [sATTYPE] section. Save the modified file. Re-launch TransEdit, select the EchoStar 3 transponder list on the left side of the main window, scan, and send the results to the DVBViewer channellist. I'll try it and report back on the outcome. Quote
