trifon33 Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 Hi all, Everything is in the tittle. I understand DVBV need to put in buffer the stream. Is it possible to put it in DRAM? I do not like for long term reliability this permanent HDD working. Quote
CiNcH Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 (edited) I believe that stream buffers are kept within the RAM. Some HDD access may also be invisible to the DVBViewer and handled by the OS, e.g. swap area/virtual memory access, or maybe plugins or 3rd party DirectShow filters access the HDD... Lars_MQ Posted July 16, 2008 Posted July 16, 2008 It's easy: No timeshift, no programming timers, no changing options, no browsing files/recordings whatever, oh and no recordings at all, then the viewer will not access the HDD. Quote
