bakerpr Posted July 17, 2008 Posted July 17, 2008 I am sure that I have in the past been able to play mp3 music files using DVBViewer. I can still play original cds but no go with other formats. I am using the latest release 3.9.4.0 with spdif audio on vista. Quote
bakerpr Posted July 18, 2008 Author Posted July 18, 2008 Does anybody think its worth a reinstall and if so can I just overwrite the existing install Quote
Tjod Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 You need Direct Shaw Decoder for mp3 and Flac on your System. If thy are working it should work with DVBViewer to. Quote
bakerpr Posted July 19, 2008 Author Posted July 19, 2008 Which decoders would you advise. I have both cyberlink and Arcsoft for video duties. Quote
Griga Posted July 19, 2008 Posted July 19, 2008 Windows natively supports mp3 playback via DirectShow. If it doesn't work something has been damaged. For flac see here - answered recently. BTW: How do you expect to survive in the information age without being able to use a search function? Evolution will sort you out mercilessly. Quote

Installed FLAC decoder and now I can playback Flac music files fine but still no go with mp3. Mp3 playback is fine in MPlayer and MPC but DVBViewer trys to use arcsoft HD audio decoder as the filter but no sound can be heard. Quote
