Bryan Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 Ever since I installed 3.9.4 on my Vista system DVBViewer refuses to find all the available UK Freeview channels and with those it does find it gives no vision or sound. The DVBViewer scan only finds a subset of the channels available, of the channels it does find the most popular such as BBC One and ITV1 are not viewable and have no sound. Other minor channels such as Film4 give no problems with both vision and sound working perfectly. I have repeated the scans many times using a variety of Hardware and Directx options some of which I know to work on other systems. I also have DVBViewer installed on my Vista laptop using a Nebula USB receiver and this seems to work fine on 3.9.2. On the system that I have the problem I can use Hauppage WinTV and this finds all channels and gives perfect vision and sound. I am also able to use Transedit to search for the channels and not only does it find them all but the preview on each channel works perfectly! When I export/send/update the found channels to DVBViewer I continue to get the problem. Tha is to say that channels such as BBC1 that I can preview perfectly on Transedit I can no longer see or hear on DVBViewer. I am now back on DVBViewer 3.9.2 thinking that this might solve the problem but now none of the DVBViewer versions seem to work. In summary the problem remains the same for 3.9.2 as for 3.9.4 no vision or sound on the most popular channels BBC ONE, BBC TWO, ITV1, Channel 4, Five etc. The information on the channel.ini for BBC ONE and Film4 is shown as BBC One ====== [channel22] TunerType=2 Frequency=506000 Polarity=2 Symbolrate=0 FEC=-1 APID=602 Language=eng VPID=600 PMTPID=4164 TelePID=0 PCRPID=600 StreamID=4100 NetworkID=9018 SID=4164 AC3=0 LNB-Selection=0 LNB=0 DiseqC=0 Root=Terrestrial (EUR) Name=BBC ONE (1) Category=BBC Encrypted=152 SatModulation=0 Group=0 Film 4 (Works Fine) ============ [channel51] TunerType=2 Frequency=538000 Polarity=2 Symbolrate=0 FEC=-1 APID=702 Language=eng VPID=701 PMTPID=1008 TelePID=0 PCRPID=701 StreamID=24576 NetworkID=9018 SID=27136 AC3=0 LNB-Selection=0 LNB=0 DiseqC=0 Root=Terrestrial (EUR) Name=Film4 Category=Channel 4 TV Encrypted=24 SatModulation=0 Group=0 I have repeated these tests many times using a variety of Hardware and Directx options and the problem remains the same. I have uploaded Support392.zip. Any help would be most gratefully received. support392.zip Quote
Bryan Posted July 27, 2008 Author Posted July 27, 2008 Problem fixed I did a manual install of the PCI card driver using the original disk that came with the Hauppauge Nova-T card and it now scans all channels and there is vision and sound on all programs. Strange that DVBViewer should have had problems when Transedit and WinTV did not. Quote
