Webserver freeze problem

Hi,

I had webserver working with default passwords, even streaming (both with VLC and without) worked fine, but then I changed the passwords and made it bind to "0.0.0.0" instead of "127.0.0.1" to make it reachable from the outside world. Nothing spectacular so far.

The problem however is that since I logged in as guest, I have been unable to get streaming. Also, it seems to be impossible to logout again. Everytime I visit localhost, I am automatically logged in as guest. A logout feature would be welcome. :-)

Anyway, I just logged in as admin in Opera and tried streaming that way instead. But streaming also failed here.

The failure happens as soon as I click on the "Start Stream" button. When I click, DVBViewer misses a few frames and then continues normally. The webserver however has locked up and requires a force kill to die.

I am able to browse the epg info normally up until the server locks up.

This was with 1.4.9beta, but have now installed 1.5.0beta and this is the same problem.

Problems:

I wonder how I log out.

I wonder what guests have access to and what should happen when they try to access "forbidden" pages.

I wonder where httpserver.exe stores the setup. It could be HTTPServer.ini but it only contains:

[Form]

Top=87

Left=66

No mentioning of logins or passwords.

Any help to get streaming to work again?

1. just close the webbrowser. Next time you open it, you should see a login dialog. At least as long as you don't use some kind of autologin setting from your browser or some tool.

2. guest can't program timers, can't access the config page and some other things I don't remember right now.

3. HTTPServer.ini in the userdata folder. (start -> programs -> DVBViewer program group -> userdata folder).

4. Check your firewall.

Hmm still would like a logout button. :-P

Restarting the browser may work but does require me to reload approx 70 webpages which I am reluctant to do. :-/

Ah, found a way to delete HTTP Authentication data. Firefox addon, but still, I can logout :-P

Recorded programs seems to be no-go for guests.

3. HTTPServer.ini in the userdata folder. (start -> programs -> DVBViewer program group -> userdata folder).

Thanks. Completely missed that one.

4. Check your firewall.

Not using a firewall...

I found out that I am able to stream recordings without problems, but live streams cause HttpServer.exe to lockup. This indicates that this is not a network issue (which I didn't really suspect) and also not a VLC problem (transcoding the recording worked just fine). There must be some interaction problem with live streams. But it has worked just fine. I am puzzled...

Any idea to what could cause the live streaming to fail when recorded streams work fine?

firewall and DVBViewer or the plugin for the DVBViewer is not installed (comes in the web interface archive). That are the two things that would stop livestreaming.

Well, as I wrote, I don't have a firewall running, so that cannot be an issue.

If the plugin wasn't installed, would I be able to view streamed recordings? I am able to view streamed recordings...

In the 1.5 zip file, there are only the files UniStreaming.dll and unregisterASF.bat, both are copied to the DVBViewer plugins folder. In there, I found a registerASF.bat which I tried running, but without any positive effect. The httpserver.exe keeps locking up when I click the "Start Stream" button (but only for live streams). I tried both with and without transcoding, but httpserver still freezes.

I am still very uncertain where I could look for the problem.

This is the last message sent to httpserver from my other pc. No response except for a TCP acknowledgement is received.

GET /streamconfig2.html?aktion=streamconfig2&source=&recid=&chid=2&Player=VLC&Internal=checkbox&PORT=3335&Preset=0&Mux=0&usevideo=checkbox&VCodec=2&vrate=512&vsize=1.00&useaudio=checkbox&ACodec=2&arate=128&achannels=2&SPRESET=LAN+VLC&start=Start+Stream HTTP/1.1

Firewall on both pc's is off.

I guess I'll file this as a bug report then seeing as it apparently is a tricky problem.

Hello galmok,

I had the same freeze problem

Start/Execute/msconfig and then in Services hide all Microsoft services and disable all the rest. Restart and make a new streaming test. In my case all runs fine again.

Sure it is an interaction problem with another process when live streams.

Sorry for my bad english

Good Luck
