HDTV/CAM problem with Terratec "Cinergy S2 PCI HD CI"?

Hello all,

after numerous issues with multiple KNCOne DVB-S2+ cards each with a CAM, I reduced the KNCOne cards to just 1. Every runs fine with that one card. But I want multiple paytv cards activated, without playing CAM Deejee.

So I bought a Terratec "Cinergy S2 PCI HD CI". This card comes with a CI module. First test show that I can switch between channels that need the KNCOne or Terratec cards without issues. Recordings seem to work too. But I noticed one issue with HDTV channels:

  • If I switch to a freetv HDTV channel like Anixe HD after I viewed a channel that used the Terratec card, the HDTV signal is not displayed.
  • If I do the same thing after having viewed something on the KNCOne card, the HDTV channel displays fine.
  • If I switch off the KNCOne card in the options and turn of the "Has CI module" option in DVBViewer, the HDTV channel displays fine too.
  • If I repeat the same thing in the Terratec TV application, I can switch fine from the PayTV channel to the HDTV channel.

I conclude that it looks like DVBViewer tries to send the HDTV signal through the CAM? There used to be an option to prevent that in previous DVBViewer versions. But I can't find it in the latest release?

Also, when I display a paytv channel on the Terratec card, and I try to view the CAM menu, I cannot see the CAM menu, although the payTV signal displays fine.

Can DVBViewer help here?

Regards, Arjen.

Is anybody using a terratec card to view HDTV programs in DVBViewer?
