MCE2005 remote and favourites

Hi,

 

I have assigned the number-keys (0-9) to go to my favorites, but something strange is happening. When I press '1', I expect my favorite '1' channel to show up, instead it shows favorite '2' channel. When I press '2', favorite '3' shows up, and so on...

 

Are the favorite channels zero based?

 

What should I do to have this corrected?

;) I hate zero based things! Starting with 0 for favorites is bad practice, in my opinion, if you open a box of chocolates, the first chocolate you take from it is not number 0 but number 1.

 

Well, aybe there is a good reason for this though, I would love to hear.

 

I solved it by putting a channel I won't watch too often on position 0 now... as a workaround.

from 0-9 you can select 10 channels with one click

 

from 1-9 you can only use 9 channels

Well, I have no recollection of _any_ tv, vcr or similar equipment where the first channel is 0. Also, when you use the argumentation of 10 channels numbered from 0 to 9, you have to remember that 0 is placed far from channel 1 (physically on the remote) that is the next logical channel.

 

Remotes look like this:

4 5 6

7 8 9

0

 

Not like this:

 

0 1 2

3 4 5

6 7 8

9
