Help in Seting up SkyStar2

Dear frineds..

 

I am Rajesh and located at kuwait now..I purchased a SkyStar2 DVB PCI Card yesterday..I thought its easy to setup like a TV Tuner Card.. I had a TV Tuner Card when i was in India..But its rellay confusing me..First of all i dont have much technical knowledge about this technology..I got a cable coming from a dish..My houseowner uses the same cable and using a splitter he gave me that connection..It was used by the guy who stayed there before me..He was using a TV..Today only i connected the card to my PC..I want to see Asianet and other channels coming though Insat 2E..I am not sure about this also..I got this much technical inofrmations regarding this..

Satellite : Insat 2E 83E

Frequent : 3643

Polarity : VER

S/R : 19531

FEC : 3/4

 

I really dont know what these figures are..I have downloaded ProgDVB, DVBViewer, DVBDream and installed into my PC..But really dont know hot to start with..Guys somebody kindly help me to set this up..How can i know from the system that i am getting signals..What all details i need to collect ? aything related to LNB and Diseqc required ? Kindly help me..Hope i will start with DVBViewer ..So help based on this software highly appriciated..

Dears.. One more query..what is this LOF1, LOF2 and switch comes when i try to configure DVBViewer..?

If your mate can watch satellite then a least the satellite is lined up ok, and I think your problem will be the splitter.

 

Spitters are generally not a good idea as you'll only be able to watch the channels on the freq that you're mate is currently watching as he's the master.

 

Try doing a channel scan without the splitter in place

Is there any way to test whether i am getting singal in the card, irrespective of Diseqc, splitters..I just want to test the signals are coming..Can we do in DVB Dream ? or any kind of software ? .. Or that needs any kind of equipment like multi meter and all ?? kindly help me ..
